Your voice is needed! From June 1 to June 22, please participate in the vital third phase of our archdiocesan pastoral planning process by completing a brief online survey In English at https://tinyurl.com/heartlandkck or in Spanish at https://tinyurl.com/espheartlandkck .

In 2026, the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas launched a pastoral planning process called Renewal from the Heartland, and I am excited to share this opportunity for you to participate in its third phase.

The first phase, Beatitudes from the Heartland, was a small group series offering reflections on scripture and Church documents regarding the responsibilities we all share as baptized Catholics within our parishes and other ecclesial communities.

The second phase, Listening with the Heart, offered prayerful settings for people from all walks of life to listen to one another regarding two prompts: 1) Please share a story about your experience with the Church that has shaped you. 2) What is the Holy Spirit asking of us?

This third phase is an Archdiocesan-wide Synodal Survey built directly from responses collected from 1000+ phase 2 participants. Responses from both phases 2 and 3 will serve as the source material for the archdiocesan pastoral planning process which I will initiate at a diocesan convocation for parish leaders on September 12, 2026.

I urge you to participate in the survey. Your voice is vital to the mission of the Church in our archdiocese!

The Holy Spirit does not come empty-handed. He brings gifts that strengthen, enlighten and transform the Christian life. 🕊️

The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are not abstract ideas, but graces that help us become more docile to God’s will and more faithful witnesses of the Gospel.

The 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

1️⃣ Wisdom
Helps us see life through God’s eyes and value what leads us to Him.

2️⃣ Understanding
Helps us grasp the truths of the faith more deeply and allow God’s Word to enter our hearts.

3️⃣ Counsel
Guides us in our choices and helps us distinguish good from evil, especially in difficult moments.

4️⃣ Fortitude
Gives us courage, perseverance and strength to remain faithful in trials.

5️⃣ Knowledge
Helps us recognize God’s presence in creation, in our lives and in His plan for us.

6️⃣ Piety
Opens our hearts to love God as Father and to live with charity toward others.

7️⃣ Fear of the Lord
Is not terror, but reverence, trust and the desire not to turn away from God.

When we open our hearts to these gifts, the Holy Spirit renews us from within and helps us live as true disciples of Christ.

Come, Holy Spirit.
Fill our hearts and guide us on the path to Heaven. 🙏

Después de 7 años de servicio y dedicación a nuestra parroquia, los invitamos a acompañarnos para agradecer y despedir al Padre Nick mientras comienza una nueva etapa en otra parroquia.

El Padre Nick ha sido una gran bendición para nuestra comunidad con su fe, apoyo y cariño hacia todos. Aunque lo extrañaremos profundamente, estamos agradecidos por los años que compartimos juntos y le deseamos muchas bendiciones en su nueva parroquia.

Acompáñenos para celebrar y agradecer al Padre Nick por todo lo que ha significado para nuestra comunidad. 💙🙏

After 7 years of service and dedication to our parish, we invite you to join us in thanking and saying farewell to Father Nick as he begins a new chapter at another parish.

Father Nick has been a great blessing to our community through his faith, support, and kindness to everyone. Although we will miss him deeply, we are grateful for the years we shared together and wish him many blessings in his new parish.

Congratulations to George and Elizabeth (Subelka) Rebeck, members of Christ the King Parish KCKS, who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today! 🥳 The couple was married on May 22, 1976, at Christ the King by Msgr. Stanley Loncaric, the groom’s uncle.
