The Power Came from God

Suddenly there was a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit.

The church wasn't launched by clever plans, impressive personalities, or human strength.

God supplied the power.

The mission Christ has given His church still requires more than we can produce ourselves. We need the Holy Spirit working in and through us.

Halt for the gospel and pray: “Lord, help me depend upon Your power rather than my own.”

God Keeps His Promises

“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.” — Acts 2:1

Jesus told His disciples to wait for the promised Holy Spirit—and God kept His promise.

God’s timing may not always match ours, but His promises never fail. The disciples waited, prayed, and trusted. Then God moved.

When you find yourself waiting, remember: God is faithful even when you cannot yet see what He is doing.

Ready for What God Will Do

Acts 1 ends with Matthias joining the apostles. The leadership was prepared, the believers were united, and God's people were waiting.

Then comes Acts 2—and everything changes.

Sometimes God prepares His people before He reveals what comes next.

So pray. Trust His Word. Remain faithful. Seek His direction. And wait expectantly.

Halt for the gospel, ask God for His plan, and be ready when He says, “Go.”

Day 6: God Knows the Heart

Before selecting Matthias, the believers prayed: “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one… You have chosen.”

People see the outside. God sees the heart.

Instead of simply asking God to bless what we've already decided, what if we stopped and asked Him to lead?

Faithfulness Matters

When choosing someone to replace Judas, the disciples looked for a person who had faithfully followed Jesus and witnessed His resurrection.

God often prepares us for tomorrow through ordinary faithfulness today.

Don't underestimate the importance of simply showing up, serving Christ, and walking faithfully with Him.

Be faithful where God has placed you.

Failure Doesn't Defeat God's Plan

Judas' betrayal was tragic, but it did not stop the mission of Jesus.

Human sin and failure cannot overthrow God's sovereign purposes.

The cross itself proves this. What sinful people intended for evil, God used to accomplish salvation through Jesus Christ.

When plans fall apart, halt and remember: God is still at work.

Trust God's Word

Peter stood among the believers and pointed them back to Scripture.

Even in a confusing and painful situation involving Judas' betrayal, Peter trusted that God's Word remained true and God's purposes had not failed.

When circumstances don't make sense, we don't have to abandon hope.

Acts 1:14 tells us the believers were together and “devoting themselves to prayer.”

Different personalities. Different backgrounds. One Savior. One mission.

Prayer brings God's people together because it reminds us that we are all dependent upon Him.

A church united around Christ and committed to prayer is prepared to follow wherever God leads.
