It’s been a while since we’ve written a new post about our prayer walk. Winter temperatures have kept us walking less and driving our neighborhoods more. The important thing is to keep on praying for souls to be saved. If you’ve been praying keep it up. If winter has gotten you out of the habit of walking the streets and praying the start again. Praying is essential, but taking the extra steps to speak in Love and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ is our mission.

It's walking season, or prayer walking season in our case. As we enter this spring season, don't forget about praying for our community. Nobody falls outside the need for prayer. Those who already know Jesus as their savior need prayer for strength , wisdom and insight. Those who have yet to be introduced to Jesus need Him even more so we pray Holy Spirit draws them to Jesus and the understanding that they need a savior. Let every step be a prayer, and when you run out of steps, pray for me, pray for the other walkers. Pray for the Churches in Kalkaska, their pastors and congregations. We all need Jesus.

Don't let the familiarity of the season diminish the power of Resurrection. We've heard the accounts often enough for each to give a description of the week prior to Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. One might declare the stories ending, but they'd be wrong. The sacrifice made that day continues, for the story of the cross isn't death but life.

Redemption purchased, my sins paid for in the most precious commodity of all time, the blood of Christ Jesus. The account continues every morning we wake up redeemed and with every "yes" of a new believer. I know I've written this many times over the last several years, but it's something the Lord dropped in my heart. When Jesus was laid in the tomb, R.I.P. did not mean Rest in Peace but Resurrection in Progress! He's alive!

Touch 2500 Tuesday #193, March 30th 2021. What have we learned? I finished watching a police show where a veteran officer was showing the rookie the ropes. This is only the movies, but it's the heart of discipleship. I regularly end these posts with a familiar phrase "Touching lives, Loving people, Making disciples. Discipleship is when the Christians who've been walking with Jesus for some time help those who are new in the faith. You know the tricks of the trade right? Stay in His word, Daily prayer, avoid things and situations that are weak areas. Staying in fellowship with church family and surrounding yourself with Christian brothers and sisters.
Those who are young the faith need us to tell them the secret of getting back up. Repent, return, and progress. When you're new and experience failure, or when you should've known better and also tripped up, it's easy to let pride or shame keep you from returning. Only One has ever walked a flawless walk and His name is Jesus, so get up again.
Never had an opportunity to disciple anyone? There's an easy way to remedy that, share the gospel with someone who does not know Jesus yet, and then do more than just pray with them, walk with them. You need it, they need it.

Whoa! it's been too long since I've updated this page and I apologize. We are pretty much past the weather that allows us to walk our streets for very long. The weather will never prevent us from praying for those same blocks. Do you know that we serve a God who hears and listens to our prayers? I thought you might, but sometimes we get a bit forgetful. Like me your moderator, for instance.
I wanted to take a moment to remind you that when we pray, we are speaking to the very Son of God. That's right, the same God who spoke galaxies into existence. Our prayers are heard by someone who operates in miracles, knows every situation, and can change every situation. I am so glad that we can bring our care before a God who can. ... wait Pastor, you forgot to finish the sentence. I figured I'd let you fill in that portion, because whatever you can fill in the blank with He can do. Have Faith friends, God is able.

Walking in prayer, walking with purpose, walking with Jesus. It’s a spiritually healthy habit for us, but it’s life changing, life giving to the lost.

Although walking is physical exercise, we're exercising our faith. When we walk and pray we are believing that those prayers reach the Fathers ears. We believe the prayers we pray are not only heard but responded to, and we believe lives will be forever changed as ours were when we found Jesus and believed upon His name.

Get out there and exercise...your faith. Just as your endurance is strengthened through physical activity, your spiritual health is impacted through prayer. Pray and walk and most of all expect that your prayers will impact the neighborhoods you pass through for the kingdom of God.

Can God change our city? Yes, I believe He can. Change in our city comes about very much like it does in our lives. It begins with a recognition that change is needed. We, the Church, recognize that Kalkaska needs a Savior. The influences we are seeing popping up all over Kalkaska are billboards testifying to that fact. When we realize change is needed in us, we pray, repent and turn from the sin Holy Spirit has revealed. It is time to renew our efforts in prayer for Kalkaska. Today we pray for an awaking in the Church, Lord open our eyes to clearly see the influences of the enemy. Help us to recognize the offense and bring it before You in prayer. Lord change us first and help us win the lost. Forgive me for the apathy I've displayed.
Friends, we must do more than just lament the incoming evil influences in Kalkaska. Saying "it's a shame that this influence is here" and "Boy, did you notice there's a new xyz in town? that's too bad". We can pray, we can vote and we can walk and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every soul won is one less to support those establishments. Join with me and proclaim "Kalkaska County belongs to the Lord!"

Good morning Church. This is an awesome time to walk with purpose. Why pray? What is the goal we seek?, Are we simply doing "churchy things", "religious activities"?

There has never been a time where communication between God and ourselves has been more necessary. Boiling it all down, if we can not hear from God and speak with Him, how are we to be effective in reaching the lost? Directions would go unheard, lives would go unchanged.

Sometimes a look at our motivations reveal that we need change too. My walking and praying may have physical benefits, I may be able to feel a sense of pride that I'm "doing". Those things are not the reason we pray or walk. The motivation is that lives on the streets where we walk find Jesus and become believers. The sole purpose is the "soul" purpose. We can see lives forever changed, we can share the gospel of Jesus and change Kalkaska, for His glory. Building the kingdom together. Be blessed friends
