Do you ever feel like you know what to do, but just aren't doing it?

You want to play with your kids, but you fill your time looking at a screen instead.

You want to hold your tongue when someone cuts you off in traffic or follows too close, but you let heated words slip out.

You want to be patient with that coworker that doesn't know how to do their job, but your short and snippy.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

Stripping off sin and EVERYTHING that hinders requires running your race with purpose.

The bible doesn't say move to this city, take the job, go back to school, or marry that person.

What it does say is who the Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is. It's also says how much He loves you, and the truths that you can build your life on.

God didn't make each of us our own bible with all the answers to the decisions we have to make moment by moment.

If He did that, we wouldn't look to Him. Talk to Him. It would be transactional, not a relationship.

When you need guidance about a big decision. Seek Him.

When you need direction in how to discipline your child in a moment. Seek Him.

When you need wisdom on how to love the person that you don't like. Seek Him.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6

The Holy Spirit will guide you in every single moment. Tune out the world and listen in.

Oh Happy Day! 🎶

This Sunday another two souls said yes to Jesus. Yes to following what He asked of them: to get baptized. Baptism is not just an outward proclamation of someone accepting Jesus and LORD and Savior. Baptism is a new beginning.

We were buried, therefore, with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised out from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

As a church let's pray over this sweet family, praising God for Jaybian choosing to lead his family by example and the privilege of him baptizing his wife.

Thank you Jaybian and Alex for sharing this special moment with all of us!

Fine, I don't want to, but I will.
Okay, Father. Thy will be done.
Not right now.
Nope.

Where do you fall in the camp of responding to the Holy Spirit?

Your Heavenly Father does not want your obedience. He wants your heart. If He has your heart then you willingly respond with a joyful yes whenever He asks you to do something.

To give up a bad habit.
To share your testimony with someone.
To pray for the person that just hurt you.

With joyful obedience overflowing from your love of God, comes life- and life in all its fullness (John 10:10).
