Jay First Assembly

Jay First Assembly No matter your age or life story - you are welcome here. Sunday Services at 9A + 11A What is a church? Is it a building? Is it a gathering of like minded people?

Is it a faith community? At JFA we believe that a church is a FAMILY. The good news of the gospel message is that believers of Jesus Christ are adopted into the family of God. Therefore, we are a church...we are FAMILY. It is important to know what we value as a FAMILY.

We value:
The word of God: Where the word speaks; God speaks. Worship: Fellowship void of performance. Spirit Led: Living a

lifestyle of blessing. Family: Welcome to the family. Next Generation: Speaking life to the future. Those values determine and drive everything we do. We have a passionate contagious culture that seeks to bring the life of Jesus Christ to Delaware county. Our church family is far from perfect; however, we are striving everyday to be more like our Father God and there is room for you at the table! With that we want to say…
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY.

Last night at JFA, we opened Genesis 3 and looked at what happens when shame enters the story.

When Adam and Eve sinned, their first instinct was to hide. But even in the middle of their failure, God came looking for them. He didn't ask, “Where are you?” because He had lost them, but because He was already moving toward them. And before they ever left the garden, He was still speaking promise and covering their shame.

That’s the kind of God we serve.

So this week, we’re continuing the conversation at home with a few questions to help us think about our own hiding, our own honesty, and the people around us who may need us to move toward them with grace.

This week’s discussion questions:

1. When Adam and Eve did wrong, their first move was to hide. When you mess up, what’s your version of “hiding”?

2. God came looking for Adam and Eve and asked, “Where are you?” He moved toward them even after they failed. Who in our lives is hiding right now, and how could our family move toward them instead of waiting for them to come to us?

3. In the middle of the consequences, God still made a promise and covered their shame. This week, where do we need to trade hiding and blaming for honesty, owning our part instead of pointing fingers?

We’re still over here celebrating Baptism Sunday!! 🙌🌊

But baptism isn’t the finish line. It’s a public declaration of a life that has decided to follow Jesus. And then comes the lifelong journey of actually following Him.

Growing. Learning His Word. Finding community. Becoming more like Jesus. Helping someone else find Him, too.

That’s why Wednesdays matter.

Right now, our men, women, and youth are walking through Scripture together from beginning to end, discovering how the whole story connects and how, from Alpha to Omega, it all points to Jesus.

We don’t just want to celebrate when someone says YES to Jesus. We want to help people keep saying yes to Him, over and over again.

There’s a place for your whole family to grow with us on Wednesday nights. We'll see you tomorrow!

Life change never gets old.

Yesterday we celebrated FIVE people publicly declaring through baptism that Jesus has changed their lives! 🙌

Every baptism represents a story. Someone Jesus has met, redeemed, and made new. And no matter how many times we get to witness it, we never want to lose the wonder of what God is doing in people’s lives.

Scripture tells us that heaven rejoices when even one person turns to Jesus, so you better believe we’re celebrating FIVE!

People are the mission. And while we celebrate these five stories, we’re already praying for the next ones.

So here’s the question for you: Who in your life needs an invitation? Who could you pray for, reach out to, bring with you, or simply help take one step closer to Jesus this week?

Someone invited. Someone prayed. Someone made room. And yesterday, we got to celebrate the fruit.

Who’s next? Because life change never gets old.

Last night, something pretty special happened at JFA.

In The Transfer, Milestones, and JFA Youth, we all opened the SAME passage of Scripture and explored the same big idea, just in different ways.

Different rooms. Different conversations. One Story.

And we don't want the conversation to end when Wednesday night is over.

So each Thursday, we'll share some discussion questions designed to help you keep the conversation going at home.

Ask your spouse what stood out to them. Ask your teenager what they talked about in Youth. Let your kids hear what God showed you. You may be surprised by how the same passage spoke differently to each person in your family.

This week’s Questions:
1. Look around the room. What's something you're really glad God made? Why do you think God bothered to make it? What does the fact that He made it and called it good tell us about Him?

2. Genesis starts with "In the beginning, God". Not "in the beginning, us." How would this week actually look different if our family lived like God is the center of the story instead of us?
Name one real thing this week (a decision, a schedule, a worry, a fight over the remote) that looks one way if we're the center and a different way if God is.

3. God worked to create, then rested and called it holy. What's one way our family can build in real rest this week that actually points us back to God, not just to screens or busyness?

Creation ends with rest as God's design, not laziness. This is a rhythm woven into the world from day one. Have each person commit to one concrete thing: a walk, a meal without phones, a Sabbath hour. Then make a plan to actually do it and check in next week.

When every eye is on you in your hardest season, your response becomes your testimony. Paul stayed on mission, kept his wits, and wrote some of Scripture's most powerful words from a prison cell.

God does not always remove you from the trial. Sometimes He transforms you in it. The question is not whether the storm will come, but how you will stand when it does.

If you are in the middle of a hard season, be encouraged. The same God who stood beside Paul stands beside you.

Have a great week, JFA!
