We all have a day when life changes without warning — the sudden 2:00 a.m. phone call, a unexpected medical diagnosis, or a life-altering loss that leaves us wondering what just happened. In those moments, it feels as though the soundtrack of our lives has abruptly stopped.
In this foundational episode, Pastor Dan Sinkhorn launches the series "When Life Breaks: Honest Questions About Pain, Fairness, and Finding Footing" with a deep dive into Job chapter 1. Looking closely at Job's blameless life and sudden catastrophic loss, Pastor Dan addresses the deep sense of unfairness we feel when suffering strikes.
This message challenges our natural default to treat God like a transactional "vending machine" — expecting good outcomes simply because we put in good behavior. Rather than offering cheap comfort or expecting listeners to hide behind a facade of perfect faith, Pastor Dan provides biblical permission to grieve openly, reminding us that God is not fragile and can handle our raw, unedited questions and pain.
Ultimately, listeners are invited to step away from the exhausting cycle of asking an endless "Why?" and instead anchor their lives in the unchanging character of the "Who" who walks with us through grief.

If you’ve ever sat in the wreckage of a broken expectation and asked, "Why is this happening to me?"—this series is for you. We’re taking the pressure off having a "perfect faith." God isn't fragile, and He isn't intimidated by your anger, your grief, or your hardest questions.

Join us this Sunday as we learn how to anchor our lives to Who God is when the why doesn't make sense.
