Future of the Church Event
Awakening Spiritual Imagination
Saturday, June 6, 2026
10am - 12 noon

Every voice (member & friend) is needed!
"Will you pray for the church and seek to serve with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love?” Without intentional engagement and facilitation, this particular question can feel unattainable and unrealistic. But the truth is, if our work is to be faithful and if we are to follow what Jesus describes as the greatest commandment—“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt. 22:37)—our work will not be sustainable unless we commit to practices that replenish our energy, expand our intelligence (understanding), evoke our imagination, and deepen our love for one another.

YOU ARE INVITED!
The session of First Presbyterian Church is inviting every member and friend of the church to join us. We pray this time together will begin to awaken our spiritual imagination; replenish our energy, expand our intelligence, and deepen our love for each other, the Church and the world.

WHY?
Before searching for a new pastor, a healthy church examines its practices and refreshes the mission to which God has called it. Congregational involvement is an essential ingredient to accomplish this goal. Please help us begin this process.

Blanche Nichols was among the most loving, encouraging, and most genuinely kind spirits I have ever encountered. I know she delighted in the role she played in getting Cate and I together. She reminded me so much of my own grandmother: intelligent, positive, bold, and determined. There's something unique and special about the spirit of a good teacher, and I know I would have loved to have been in one of Blanche's classes. I learned a lot from her, nonetheless. Rest in peace, dear lady.
