PRESCHOOL VBS STARTS TODAY @ NORTH JAX!!!

We are excited to welcome our preschoolers to Illumination Station VBS at North Jax this week from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon each day!

As the fun begins, we invite our church family to pray for every child who attends. Pray that hearts will be open to God’s truth, friendships will be formed, families will be encouraged, and lives will be changed by the Gospel.

Most of all, pray that children will come to understand that Jesus is the Light of the World and that His love shines brighter than anything this world can offer.

We can’t wait to see what God will do this week.

Today, Pastor Josh’s message, “When Obedience Makes It Worse,” from Exodus 5:1-23, reminded us that following God does not always make life easier.

When Moses obeyed God's command to confront Pharaoh, the situation actually became more difficult for God's people. Through this passage, we see that hardship often reveals where our trust truly rests and deepens our dependence on the Lord. Even faithful believers experience discouragement, but the difference is where they take their struggles.

Moses brought his questions to God, and God was still working even when nothing seemed to be improving. Exodus 5 reminds us that a difficult season is not the end of the story. When obedience makes life harder, God may be accomplishing far more than we can see.

Midweek worship at North Jax was a powerful reminder that God is gracious, loving, and patient...but He is also holy. The same Spirit that grows the church also guards the church. Acts 5 shows us that God takes hypocrisy seriously and desires hearts that are genuine, surrendered, and honest before Him.

Pastor Josh challenged us with three sobering reminders:

• God’s not fooled.
• God’s not negotiating.
• God’s not playing.

A healthy church loves graciously, rejects hypocrisy, and fears the Lord. Tonight was a call to stop pretending, stop holding back pieces of our lives from God, and fully surrender to Him.

“Healthy Christians make healthy churches, and healthy churches can shake a community with the life-changing Gospel.”

This year at VBS, kids will discover that JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!

“I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Our world can feel dark and confusing, but Jesus came to show us the truth of who He really is. Through His birth, life, death, and resurrection, we see the perfect and powerful Son of God who came to be our Savior!

As we prepare for VBS, would you join us in praying?

* Pray for every child who walks through our doors to hear and understand the Gospel.
* Pray for salvation and life change.
* Pray for our volunteers to have energy, wisdom, and joy as they serve.
* Pray for safety throughout the week.
* Pray that kids and families will clearly see the light of Jesus shining through our church.

As Pastor Herb reminded us this past Sunday, "God is not looking for occasional surrender. He’s not looking for edited discipleship. He’s not looking for convenient holiness.”

In a world that encourages selective obedience and comfortable Christianity, Exodus 4 challenged us to remember that God desires hearts that are fully yielded to Him. Partial obedience may satisfy people, but it never satisfies God.

The good news? The same God who calls us to obedience also gives us the grace and power to walk in it through Jesus Christ.
