Let's look at John 16:13: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."
This is a powerful verse because it reveals the special attention and intimacy found in a true relationship with Jesus. When we truly surrender ourselves to the Master, we release fear, anxiety, doubt, confusion, and everything else that keeps us from fully trusting Him. I don't have to worry about my children, for I have placed them in His hands. Every prayer He hears. Every teardrop He sees. I encourage you today to truly lay it all on the altar. The power and glory contained in this one verse is where victory lives. I can walk into my job knowing the Holy Spirit will guide me into all truth. I don't have to have all the answers because I serve a God who is all-knowing, ever-present, and all-powerful. I can rest assured that He holds my life, my marriage, my family, my church, and everything associated with me in the palm of His hand. Let's be honest—life is hard and often unfair. We get sick. We face troubles. Things don't always go according to our plans. I've been so distraught at times that it seemed as though I never had a plan at all. Yet, even then, the Holy Spirit knows your thoughts. He knows your concerns, your pain, and your struggles, and He desires to guide you into all truth. He wants to introduce you to peace. Perhaps the most liberating realization is understanding that I could never do this on my own and simply resting in the arms of God. I tell you, child of God, He is more than capable of catching you when you fall, picking up the pieces of your weary life, and crafting a masterpiece. Be encouraged, weary soul. The Author and Finisher of your faith is waiting to take over your story.
