Gospel Life Church is a gospel-centered family of disciple-makers who enjoy and reveal God, live all of life for Jesus, and multiply church-planting churches throughout the world. We are non-denominational, Evangelical, Gospel-centered, Spirit-filled, and missional. The Gospel is the good news of salvation by grace through faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Colossians 3.17
says, “And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” This means that, “All of life is all for Jesus.”
At Gospel Life Church, we are all about being and making disciples of Jesus. We define a disciple as, “Someone who is learning to follow and submit to Jesus more and more by believing and applying the Gospel to every area of life.” We want to grow as disciples of Jesus and help others do the same. Why? Because we have been radically transformed by the Gospel! We have come to see the beauty, grace and love of God, and so now we serve and love others as an overflow. 2 Corinthians 5.14 says, “For the love of Christ compels us, since we have reached this conclusion: If one died for all, then all died. And He died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised.”
The love of God sends us out beyond the “4 walls” of a building and beyond events and programs to live out Micah 6.8, “Mankind, He has told each of you what is good and what the LORD requires of you: to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
As we go out into our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, clubs and communities, we don’t go alone. The “church” is the people – the community of believers – the family of God. So we pray that God would make us into a people like the early church in Acts 2.42-47, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. Now all the believers were TOGETHER and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.”
We are a group of believers trying to follow Jesus together in the everyday stuff of life, or in other words, a family of disciple-makers. We have 4 statements that explain, anchor and guide our church. Purpose Statement:
Gospel Life Church exists to enjoy and reveal God – Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. Identity Statement:
Because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are a family of disciple-makers. There are 3 “Gospel Identities” that we prioritize at Gospel Life Church that we get from the Trinity: we are sons and daughters of God the Father (family), we are disciples of Jesus (“Come, follow me”), and we are “makers” empowered by the Holy Spirit (sent as missionaries). Mission Statement:
Multiply families of disciple-makers who are characterized by faith, hope and love in the Gospel.
“Now these 3 remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
Our 3 core values are Faith, Hope, and Love in the Gospel. The Gospel (God’s saving of sinners by grace through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) is the core distinctive of our faith as Christians, our hope is the coming Kingdom of God (Rev. 20-21), and the everyday mission of our lives is to demonstrate and declare the Gospel. We believe the reason Paul says that love is the greatest is because our faith will eventually become sight, and our hope of the Kingdom will be realized, but our love for God and for each other will last forever.
