This month’s Bread & Banter “Chef’s Choice” menu featured roasted tomato soup, baked Tuscan-style salmon in a creamy sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, sourdough bread from Laura Pavlovich, baked parmesan-dusted asparagus, orzo-and-rice pilaf, and a chopped salad. Marilyn Ghilardi provided chilled mixed berries and angel food cake topped with a mountain of homemade whipped cream.

While not everyone in the 55+ community can make it to lunch every month, there are regularly more than 20 gathered around the table. This month featured especially delicious bread, and plenty of “banter” to go around. 🤍

Featuring works by Poulenc and Hindemith and arrangements from Candide and Carmen, this piano four-hands program came to life through a wonderful performance by David Baranowski and Jesse Goldberg.

This Sunday, we celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with our annual Japanese Children’s Day. 🇯🇵

The morning was filled with vibrant energy as Taiko drummers based out of our Cathedral brought powerful rhythm to our worship, followed by a joyful drumming workshop.

A beautiful day of celebration, learning, and community. 🎏✨

On Wednesday night approximately 80 people including grant recipients gathered for a celebration of the power of service and giving back. Out of the two of the clothing sales in 2025, $93,000 was granted to local organizations representing feeding, clothing, supporting and caring for people across many communities.

Our monthly Bread & Banter gathering was once again filled with wonderful conversation, laughter, and a delicious meal shared in community. 🤍

This Wednesday’s menu featured honey ricotta with homemade ciabatta, slow-roasted pork shoulder, creamy polenta, chicken scarpariello, and sun-dried tomato butter, a true taste of Italy.

A heartfelt thank-you to Mambo Italiano in Irvington for preparing such a beautiful meal. Known for its fresh, homemade dishes and cozy atmosphere, it truly brought the flavors of Italy to our table.

We are so grateful for these moments of fellowship with our 55+ community at St. Barnabas.
