Today marks my sixth year of priestly ordination. On this day in 2020, I was ordained by Bishop Deshotel as a priest forever. It is an immense joy to serve God's Church here at St. Joseph in Iota, St. Michael in Egan, and St. Francis School. I ask for your continued prayers, and know of my continued prayers for all of you.
When I was a kid, I vividly remember watching my pastor, Msgr. Mouton, offer Mass. I would altar serve and watch him raise the Host and then the chalice with the Precious Blood. I told myself, "I will do that one day," and now have the unique opportunity to do just that each day of my life. Bringing the Sacraments to the people of God is an immense joy and at the heart of the priest. So, thank all of you for allowing me the opportunity to serve here as your priest.
Holy Father, who, by no merit of my own, chose me
for communion with the eternal priesthood of your Christ
and for the ministry of your Church,
grant that I may be an ardent yet gentle preacher of the Gospel
and a faithful steward of your mysteries.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
