Good afternoon! I'm reaching out to the parents of our current religion students of St. Michael, Egan and St. Joseph, Iota: registrations are due on Monday, Sept. 6th by 3pm. Forms are available in the foyers of both churches, in the church office or you can print one from our church website...stjosephiota.org. Completed forms can be mailed, dropped off at the church office, or placed in the collection at any Mass this weekend.
As of today, Aug. 31, we only have 52 of the 224 (returning) students registered. PLEASE get this done by next Monday. If you are new to our parish and have not yet registered with the church, you may do so at the same time that you register your child for their class.
Questions? Call the office between 8am-3pm, Monday thru Thursday or contact me on Remind.

Thanks!!
Mrs. Daniela

Friday, Jan. 22, marks the 48th year of Roe vs. Wade, and since that time, over 62,000,000 ( that's million!) babies have been lost to abortion. With that being said, a Pro-Life Rosary will be prayed after the 7am Mass here at St. Joseph Church. All are welcomed to join us, either in the church or, if you're unable to attend, from the comfort of your home.
Feel free to share this post! Blessings to all...

December 8th is and always will be a Holy Day of Obligation, as it is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. However, this year, because of covid-19, we have been dispensed from ALL obligations of Mass, which includes the Immaculate Conception. Fr. Jude will have regular Mass at 5:30pm in St. Michael's in Egan if you wish to attend Mass in honor of Mary.
Please share to help spread the word.

Beginning this weekend, for Masses in Iota and Egan, an insert will be placed in the church bulletin with the readings for Mass. Many people have commented on how hard it is for them to follow without having something to follow along with!! All we ask is that you bring the paper home with you, to keep the church looking nice.
Feel free to share this good news! 🙂

Fr. Jude asked that I post this here and to share as much as possible!

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, ever Virgin Mother of Jesus Christ our Lord and God, you are most powerful against the enemy of our salvation. The divine promise of a Redeemer was announced right after the sin of our first parents; and you, through your Divine Son, crushed the serpent’s head. Hasten, then, to our help and deliver us from the deceits of satan. Intercede for us with Jesus that we may always accept God’s graces and be found faithful to Him in our particular states of life. As you once saved our beloved City from ravaging flames and our Country from an invading army, have pity on us and obtain for us protection from hurricanes and all other disasters. (silent pause for individual petitions). Assist us in the many trials which beset our path through life. Watch over the Church and the Pope as they uphold with total fidelity the purity of faith and morals against unremitting opposition. Be to us truly Our Lady of Prompt Succor now and especially at the hour of our death, that we may gain everlasting life through the merits of Jesus Christ Who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times)

Good day, everyone! Just letting you know that the registration form for religion classes for the 2020-2021 year has been uploaded to the church website. You can go to stjosephiota.org, move over to the "more" tab, choose religious education and move down to ccd registration form and print one from there. Drop them in the church collection, mail it in or use the drop box on the office door. There will also be printed forms in the foyers of both St. Michael and St. Joseph's Churches beginning this weekend.

We are still in need of teachers for grades 3,4,5,6 and 9 for Iota and 5,7 and 9 for Egan. Y'all know the spiel...no teacher, no classes!! Please help out if you can. **ALL classes will be "in-person", with the students (and teachers) having to wear a mask. **

Classes begin Sept. 20 for Confirmation students, Sept. 22 for St. Michael students and Sept. 23 for St. Joseph students. Deadline to register is Sept. 14.

Questions? Call the office @ 779-2627, or leave a message here.
Feel free to share this post!!

Have a great day!!🙂

Fr. Jude asked that I share this wonderful news with our FB followers:

Bishop Deshotel has given us permission to hold Mass outdoors beginning this weekend!!! You are NOT obligated to attend. However, if you do choose to attend, bring your own lawn chairs and umbrellas if you can't tolerate the sun.

The weekend Mass schedule will be as follows:
- Saturday May 2nd @ 4pm in Iota
- Sunday May 3rd @ 7am in Iota
- Sunday May 3rd @ 9am in Iota
- Sunday May 3rd @ 11am in Iota

Lectors & altar servers will be needed for each Mass. Volunteers should meet in the front lobby of St. Francis prior to each Mass. Eucharistic Ministers will NOT be needed as Fr. Jude will be the only person to give communion.

***Holy Communion will ONLY be offered in the hand***

Fr. Jude is still working out the ability to have Mass in Egan but until then, all Masses will be here in Iota. The weekly offering will be collected at each Mass.

The altar will be set up under the awning at the front doors of St. Francis School. Seating for the congregation will be in the parking area between the statue and the school. This area will be visibly marked. Fr. Jude is asking that people park in the area south of the church and east of the school (between the church and the ballpark).

Because we will congregate outdoors, and we will not be confined to a tent/building, there will NOT be an occupancy limit. However, responsible social distancing is required and expected.

In order to maintain social distancing, Fr. Jude is asking congregants to observe a 6ft distance while seated and during the Mass. People living in the same household can sit together as a group, but each household should maintain a 6ft distance from congregants of other households.

At this time, the wearing of face masks is encouraged, but not required.

Social media is the fastest way to get the word out, so please shareshareshare! (You might contact your friends and family without Facebook to let them know as well.)

We are very much looking forward to worshipping together this weekend!
