What's Next? That's the question every graduate is hearing right now.

College? Work? Trade school? World domination? (Okay, maybe not that last one.)

Before all the "what's next" questions, join us as we celebrate our graduating seniors and explore an even more important question:

Who are you becoming?

Join us for a special Baccalaureate Service on Wednesday, June 3, at 6:00 PM, following The Gathering Meal at 5:00 PM.

Come encourage our graduates as they prepare for the road ahead and discover that their worth isn't found in a diploma, job title, or future plans - but in who God says they are.

Everyone is welcome!

The Gathering Meal – 5:00 PM
Baccalaureate Service – 6:00 PM

Please Note - A reception for the graduates, in the church dining room, will directly follow the Baccalaureate Service.

Stressed? Exhausted? Running on empty? You’re not alone.

Join us this Sunday as we explore how to find peace, hope, and rest in a world full of pressure and anxiety.

Because maybe what our souls need most isn’t more noise & chaos…. but the steady presence of Christ — the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

If you're unable to be present this Sunday for "in-person" worship at 11:00 am, you'll be able to view the recorded version of this coming Sunday's message at the church's YouTube channel with this link: https://www.youtube.com//streams

Children don’t need perfect adults. They need safe adults.
Kind adults.
Faithful adults.
Adults who remember that love changes people for the better.

This morning we’ll explore how Jesus treated children — and what that means for us today in a world filled with stress, division, and uncertainty.

If you’ve been needing hope lately, this message may be exactly what your heart needs too!

Come join us at Ione Community Church!

Following worship, we’re hosting a community presentation exploring ways people can support children in foster care and vulnerable families — including volunteer opportunities, respite care, community partnerships, and practical ways to bring hope and stability to local children.

What shapes a person more today — truth, or the voices shouting the loudest?

Every day, people are pulled apart by anger, fear, politics, isolation, online outrage, and voices that tell us exactly what we want to hear. But Jesus offers a different way — a better way. A way of truth, love, courage, community, and real life.

This Sunday at 9:30 AM, join us for "The Wired Word" as we talk honestly about what happens when people bond over hate instead of love — and why authentic, Christ-centered community matters now more than ever.

Together we’ll explore how faith, friendship, truth, and gathering face-to-face can help heal hearts, strengthen families, guide our kids, support our seniors, and help us become the people God created us to be.

You don’t need to be a Bible expert. You don’t need to have life figured out. Just come willing to think, listen, learn, and grow.

In a world full of noise, fear, and division, Jesus still says:
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

Sunday mornings • 9:30 AM
The Wired Word
Real life. Real conversation. Real hope.

Following worship this Sunday, we’re hosting a special community conversation about something that touches far more lives than many people realize: caring for children and families experiencing foster care.

Whether you’ve followed Jesus for decades, are still exploring faith, or simply care about making a difference in the lives of children, this presentation offers a meaningful opportunity to learn how ordinary people can have an extraordinary impact.

Representatives from the Oregon Department of Human Services will share:
• How foster families support children in difficult seasons
• Simple ways community members can help — even without becoming foster parents
• Volunteer opportunities that make a real difference locally
• How churches and neighbors can surround vulnerable children and families with practical care, encouragement, and hope

You’ll also hear about organizations serving children and foster families right here in our region, including:

* [Every Child Oregon](https://everychild.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
* [Sweet Potato’s Closet](https://www.sweetpotatoscloset.org/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
* [Hands and Feet Inc.](https://www.handsandfeetinc.org/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
* [CASA of Umatilla & Morrow Counties](https://www.umchs.org/o/casa?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Right now, many children entering foster care need more than a system — they need caring adults, supportive communities, safe homes, and people willing to simply show up.

You may not be called to do everything.
But everyone can do something.

Join us immediately following worship this Sunday.
Worship begins at 11:00 AM.

Come listen, learn, ask questions, and discover how compassion can become action in our community!

Over the past several weeks, our surrounding community has experienced additional loss, grief, and heartache. For many people, the weight of it all can feel difficult to carry.

Even when life continues moving forward — work, responsibilities, appointments, chores, and daily routines — the heart still needs space to slow down, breathe, and heal.

That’s why the sanctuary at Ione Community Church remains open each Thursday for anyone in our community seeking a quiet and peaceful place to rest, reflect, pray, or simply be still for a little while.

This space is open to everyone.

There is no service to attend.
No pressure to speak.
No expectation that you arrive with the right words or a certain kind of faith.

You are welcome to sit quietly, listen to soft music, pray, light a candle, read, reflect on memories, or simply spend a few peaceful moments away from the noise and demands of the day.

Some people come carrying grief.
Some come carrying stress or uncertainty.
Some simply need a quiet reminder that they are not alone.

Whatever you may be carrying right now, you are welcome here.

There’s something good about slowing down long enough to share a cup of coffee and a real conversation.

In a world where so much communication happens through screens, schedules, and rushed interactions, Coffee & Conversations is a simple reminder that people still need people.

It’s a place to reconnect.
To laugh a little.
To hear familiar stories and meet new friends.
To talk about life, faith, family, gardening, grandkids, old memories, current adventures, or whatever else happens to find its way to the table that morning.

Some people come because they enjoy the conversation.
Some come because they appreciate the friendships.
Some come because it simply feels good to start the day surrounded by kindness and community.

Whatever brings you through the door, you are welcome.

Coffee & Conversations

Bring your favorite coffee attitude, your stories, your sense of humor, or just yourself.

There’s always room for one more around the table.

Life gets windy sometimes...

One minute everything feels calm… and the next minute:
• the bills pile up,
• the tractor won’t start,
• the kids are arguing,
• the dog disappears,
• somebody says “we need to talk,”
• and suddenly you’re stress-eating snacks you didn’t even want five minutes ago.

Jesus never promised a storm-free life…
But He DID promise we wouldn’t face the storms alone.

Join us this Wednesday, May 27th at 6:30 PM (following “The Gathering Meal”) for a fun, encouraging, activity-based small group study:

STORM-PROOF FAITH - Standing Strong When Life Gets Windy

We’ll laugh a little, think deeply, encourage one another, and explore how following Jesus helps us become grounded, resilient, compassionate people in a world that often feels anxious, angry, exhausted, and divided.

This is for:
Longtime Christians
People with questions
Busy parents
Teens & adults
Farmers, ranchers, retirees, and everybody in between
Anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed by life!

There’s something good about gathering around a table together.

In a world where so much feels rushed and disconnected, simple things matter more than ever:
Good conversations.
Shared meals.
Laughter.
Friendship.
Encouragement.
A place where people can simply be themselves.

That’s what The Gathering is all about.

Every Wednesday evening, people from all walks of life come together to share food, build relationships, and enjoy a Christ-centered community that is welcoming, relaxed, and real.

Some come for the conversation.
Some come for the friendships.
Some come because it’s become one of the most peaceful and encouraging parts of their week.

No pressure.
No pretending.
Just a place to connect, breathe, laugh a little, and be reminded that hope, joy, love, and kindness still matter deeply.

Whether you’ve been part of church for years, haven’t been in a long time, or are simply looking for a good group of people to share an evening with — you are welcome here.

Kids have a way of reminding us what matters most...
Sometimes with wisdom.
Sometimes with questions.
Sometimes by tracking mud through the fellowship hall five minutes after cleaning day.

This Sunday, join us for a message about “Loving Children Like Jesus Did” — and why the church can still be a place of hope, peace, healing, and stability in a world that often feels uncertain and divided.

Whether you’re raising kids, missing your kids, helping with grandkids, or just trying to survive adulthood one cup of coffee at a time… this message is for you!

And yes, there will probably be cookies afterward.
We’re still a church, after all!

Following the worship service, there will be a brief community presentation focused on supporting children in foster care and families in crisis. Learn about local programs, volunteer opportunities, and practical ways people of all ages can help bring hope, care, and stability to vulnerable children in our region.
