The Anglican Church of the Resurrection (ACR) started with a small gathering of some Nigerian Anglican residents in Indianapolis, who met in a fellowship gathering on July 17, 2002 at the behest of the Rt.Rev Peter Adebiyi (Former Diocesan Bishop of Lagos West, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion). During the gathering, the Bishop gave his approval for interested Nigerian Anglicans and other Chri

stians who needed a safe place of worship to find a suitable place and gather for worship. The Bishop encouraged the then Ven. Amos Fagbamiye (former Dean and Bishop of ACR) to shepherd the people who genuinely yearned for their own space so that they have their own Nigerian indigenous worship like back home. In over twenty years of its existence, ACR has gone through some changes to its status from being a parish Church to a Cathedral and now a Parish church again in line with the Mission of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)

ACR's mission statement is “But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” 1 Corinthians 1:23-24. ACR is a Christ-centered Church, outwardly focused, and committed to evangelism, discipleship and church planting. We have a diverse congregation representing people from a variety of backgrounds, nations, races and ages. As one of the Mission Churches of the Church of Nigeria, ACR is affiliated and a part of CONNAM (Church of Nigeria North American Mission), the missionary body for the Church of Nigeria in the USA. We are glad that you have taken the time to visit our page. If you are looking for a home church and want to see what this congregation has to offer, we encourage you to look at the many activities and ministries that we have at ACR. A meaningful celebration as we shared in Holy Communion and marked another anniversary of the Fountain of Hope International (FOHI) Society at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Indianapolis, USA. The occasion brought together worship, fellowship, and moments of appreciation for the journey so far.

It was encouraging to celebrate God's goodness, the bonds we share as a church family, and the continued work of the Society. Here's to another year of faith, service, and fellowship.
