✨ Thinking about becoming Catholic?

The journey into the Catholic Church as an adult begins with OCIA — The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults.

Through classes that begin this September and run until early June, you’ll:
📖 Learn the teachings of the Catholic faith
🙏 Deepen your relationship with Christ
💬 Ask questions and discern your next steps in a pressure-free environment

For those who decide to enter the Church, the journey culminates at the Easter Vigil, where the Sacraments of Initiation — Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation — are joyfully received.

Whether you’re ready to take that step or simply curious, OCIA is a great space to explore, learn, and grow. Need more info? Contact Bri in the Parish Office or message us on here and we can connect you with more info!

🎬 PRO-LIFE FILM SERIES: BETTER OFF DEAD

Join us one week from today (Friday, September 11) at 6:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church in Corpus Christi Hall as our Pro-Life Film Series continues with Better Off Dead.

The documentary, authored by actor and disability rights activist Liz Carr, explores the dangers that assisted su***de poses to people with disabilities and invites us to consider the profound questions surrounding this growing issue.

Following the film, join us for a panel discussion featuring:
• Fr. Jeff Dufresne
• Alex Mingus, Executive Director of the Indiana Catholic Conference
• Bailey Harkins, St. John parishioner, recreation therapist, and President of the Recreation Therapists of Indiana

💬 Come watch, learn, and take part in the conversation about protecting the dignity and value of every human life.

All are welcome!

What does it mean to be a living sacrifice? It starts with daily surrender to the Lord — through prayer, discernment, and asking how God can work through you. When we stop getting in the way and start yielding to His will, we don't just grow in holiness — we help make the world holy too. This homily is from Fr. Tim Wyciskalla, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Listen to full homily on YouTube (stjohnsindy).
