As we approach three years since the horrific events of October 7, 2023, we invite our community to come together in remembrance and honor the lives lost.
We will gather to memorialize the victims and invite participants to take part in a remembrance walk or commemorative run. The program will also feature wellness stations, creating space for reflection and healing.
Together, we hope to find comfort in one another, draw strength from our unity, and honor the memories of those we have lost 💙

Our Neighbors Need Us.

Flooding is affecting thousands of lives in our region. The needs are great, and our community will need tremendous support as it recovers and rebuilds over the coming days, weeks and months.

Here's how you can help:

Give. The Indianapolis Foundation and Hamilton County Community Foundation have each opened flood relief funds, directing 100% of gifts to local recovery efforts.

Volunteer. The American Red Cross has an urgent need for people support flood-relief efforts and disaster response. Go to https://redcross.org/local/indiana/volunteer.html

Donate. The Washington Township Schools PTO is collecting supplies for displaced families at the Red Cross shelter at 8401 Westfield Blvd. Requested high-priority items are bottled water, pre-packaged snacks, diapers and wipes, and towels.

Dear JCC Indianapolis Members and Friends,

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating flooding across Greater Indianapolis. We are actively assessing the community’s needs and determining how JCC Indianapolis can provide meaningful support during this difficult time.

As an immediate response:

All first responders are invited to use the JCC free of charge from Sunday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 19. We are deeply grateful for their tireless service to our community.

All members of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis are welcome to use our facility during this period. With several YMCA locations forced to close because of the flooding, we are pleased to open our doors and welcome their members to the JCC.

The American Red Cross of Indiana (ARC) also needs volunteers to assist with flood-relief efforts. If you are able to give your time, we strongly encourage you to volunteer and help our neighbors as they begin to recover. https://www.redcross.org/local/indiana/volunteer.html

OFFICIAL UPDATE: MAIN STREET ARSON INVESTIGATION

The Zionsville Police Department has taken a suspect into custody following its investigation into the July 10 fire at 195 S. Main Street.

On August 10, a Boone County juvenile court magistrate issued a pickup order based on a probable cause affidavit prepared by Zionsville Police Department detectives. Zionsville Police officers took the suspect into custody at approximately 3:50 p.m.

The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a juvenile delinquency petition alleging that the suspect committed an act that would constitute felony arson if committed by an adult. The suspect was 17 years old at the time of the alleged offense and has since turned 18. Because the alleged conduct occurred when the suspect was a juvenile, the matter was initially filed in juvenile court.

The filing of a juvenile delinquency petition is an allegation. The suspect is presumed innocent unless and until the allegations are proven in court.

Because this remains a pending court matter, the Town of Zionsville and Zionsville Police Department will not comment further on specific evidence or circumstances beyond information contained in publicly available court records and filings.
