A highly informative workshop recently helped many of our members gain a clearer understanding of the challenges and opportunities before us at Eastgate. After reflecting on what we learned, we believe it is important to begin discerning our long‑term future together. One of the possibilities before us is exploring a merger with another local congregation.

To move forward faithfully and transparently, we will hold a
Called Congregational Meeting on July 12, 2026,
immediately following worship.

At this meeting, members will vote on whether to begin the formal process of exploring a potential merger. This step does not commit us to merging; rather, it opens a months‑long period of conversation, evaluation, and prayerful discernment to determine compatibility and fit.

We will continue to keep you informed about all available options as we gather more information.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this important meeting. Your voice and participation are essential as we seek God’s direction for our future.

Please plan to join us on June 28th as Pastor Whitmer concludes our journey through the gospel of Matthew. His sermon this week is titled, "Whoever Gives".
Sermon in a sentence: Sacrifice, though sometimes difficult and even at times painful, is necessary to achieve success in life. In our faith, sacrifice is an essential element in strengthening our commitment to God.

Scripture focus is Matthew 10:37-42. This passage reminds us of the importance of prioritizing one’s love and devotion to God above all else, recognizing that following Christ may lead to division within families, but promising blessings and rewards for those who offer hospitality and support to God’s messengers .

Happy Father's Day from Eastgate Christian Church! We give thanks for fathers—those who raised us, those who mentor us, and those who reflect God’s steady love in the way they lead, protect, and encourage. We honor the men who show up with patience, strength, and quiet faithfulness, often in ways unseen but deeply felt. As we worship this morning, we celebrate our Heavenly Father, whose love is perfect, constant, and unfailing. May every father here be strengthened and blessed, and may all of us be reminded that we are held by a Father who never lets go.

Pastor Whitmer will be presenting a workshop, “Rediscovering Church”, on Saturday, June 20th from 9 am – 3 pm here at Eastgate. This informational session is designed to address the unique processes, changes and challenges that are necessary to navigate a transitional ministry. A light lunch will be provided. All are invited to attend this important event as the information provided will be timely and pertinent. Please let Pastor Whitmer or the church office know if you are planning to attend so that we can be sure to have enough food and handouts.

In this cold, harsh world, it is not always easy to draw people to Christ. We ask God for the wisdom and courage to reach out to our neighbors and share the love and guidance Jesus promised.

This commissioning signifies not only His trust in them but also their role in continuing His work on earth, illustrating Jesus' intention to equip His followers to serve others, reflecting His love and compassion.
