Welcome to Worship!

This Sunday, Pastor Whitmer brings us the message, "Call to Order". Followers of Jesus believe a time is coming when the world will completely change, and God’s Kingdom will appear. Will this happen in our lifetime? No one can know. One thing is for certain, we all will eventually enter God's Kingdom. None of us can foresee when we will have our final moment on this earth. We do know we only have this life where we can get ourselves ready for the time God calls us to a new life, where nothing will ever be the same again.

Scripture focus: Exodus 12:1-14, Romans 13:8-14

In Exodus 12:1-14, God gives Israel the Passover as a sign of deliverance. The blood of the lamb marks the people as God’s own, and the meal becomes a lasting reminder that the Lord rescues, protects, and leads His people into freedom.

In Romans 13:8-14, Paul reminds us that love is the fulfillment of God’s law. We are called to wake up, live honorably, and “put on the Lord Jesus Christ,” choosing the light of Christ over the darkness of selfishness and sin.

Together, these readings point us to God’s saving love and our response: remember what God has done, live in the light, and let love guide every step.

Please join us in worship on Sunday, Sept. 6th as Pastor Whitmer brings us the message, "Call to Order". Please join us for worship on Sunday as Pastor Whitmer brings us the message, "Facing Reality".
Jesus teaches his followers (including all of us today) that while we tell of Jesus’ wonderful teachings, we must face the reality of the cost of changing the world. Jesus taught us of God’s love and compassion for all. He even demonstrated it as he healed the sick and resurrected the dead.
Like the rough times Jesus and his followers lived in, we too live in times where there is suffering from illness, emotional and economic injustice, and the resulting death, strife, and hunger that go with it. But to combat this reality, we must face it, not hide from it.
With God’s strength and love, we can also experience resurrection.
Scripture focus is Matthew 16:21-28. This passage is about Jesus foretelling his death and resurrection, challenging his disciples to deny themselves and follow him, emphasizing the cost of discipleship while promising eternal life for those who are faithful to him till the end.

Please join us for worship on Sunday as Pastor Whitmer brings us the message, "Facing Reality".
Jesus teaches his followers (including all of us today) that while we tell of Jesus’ wonderful teachings, we must face the reality of the cost of changing the world. Jesus taught us of God’s love and compassion for all. He even demonstrated it as he healed the sick and resurrected the dead.

Welcome to Worship!
In today’s worship, Rev. Whitmer delivers the message, ""What Defiles". To defile something in the biblical sense is to desecrate, violate or debase something. Actions can defile property... we can see evidence of that every day in our surroundings. What is less apparent is how our actions and words can defile our relationships. What Jesus is teaching here is that when we do or say a defiling thing, it affects everything and everyone around it, much like a ripple effect. But if our actions are constructive and loving, the ripple effect still works. If one does good things, good spreads out and fills the universe with good and Godly things. Then, the results are healing and full of love – God’s love.
Scripture focus is Matthew 15:10-28. This passage emphasizes that true faith and purity come from the heart, not from outward appearances or religious traditions.

Welcome to Worship!

In today’s worship, Rev. Whitmer delivers the message, "Reunion". When thinking about a family reunion, we can all picture the idyllic gathering of family, food, love and laughter. Unfortunately, that isn't always the reality. Some families have histories of pain caused by jealousy, envy, and hate. Sometimes, families have split up and have seemingly unresolvable factions.
When Joseph had an unexpected reunion with his brothers some years after they sold him into slavery, he could have understandably sought revenge for his jealous brothers' actions. Instead, he responded with generosity, compassion, and grace, reflected in Jesus’ own teachings over a thousand years later. The account of Joseph and his brothers can become a model of reconciliation. Please join us as we learn more about true reunion.
Scripture focus: Genesis 45:1-15 In this scripture, Joseph demonstrates tremendous strength and grace in this powerful verse by revealing his true identity to his brothers who had betrayed him by selling him into slavery. When thinking about a family reunion, we can all picture the idyllic gathering of family, food, love and laughter. Unfortunately, that isn't always the reality. Welcome to Worship!

In today’s worship, Rev. Whitmer delivers the message, "Take a Walk". In the Bible, Jesus rescues Peter and his friends from tumultuous waters and chaos, bringing calm and peace to an otherwise chaotic scene. Peter reaches out to Jesus for help, and Jesus gives him the assistance he needs. It's the same in our world today... tumultuous, stormy, chaotic at times.... but we have the ability to reach out to Jesus to help us too. In today's message, we ponder the ability of Jesus to save us from the chaos of the deep and draw us to safety.
Scripture focus is Matthew 14:22-33. This verse is a powerful reminder of the importance of faith and trust in times of doubt and difficulty. It tells the story of Jesus walking on water, a miraculous and awe-inspiring moment that defies the laws of nature. When Peter sees Jesus walking on the water, he wants to join him and walks towards him on the water. However, when Peter starts to doubt and fear sets in, he begins to sink. Jesus immediately reaches out his hand and saves him as he cries out to Jesus for help in that moment.
