Hi Church Family,
There are pieces of information you may want to be aware of in regards to Operation Christmas Child. Email may be the best way to get this information to all of you. If someone is not on here or does not receive an email, feel free to contact them with any pertinent information.
1- We will be having our Pack a Taco, Pack a Box lunch on Sept. 20th, right after church. We will be enjoying some tacos, games & a raffle while we learn about the rules/guidelines of the Christmas Shoeboxes.
**It is important to know that you will not be packing a bunch of boxes like we did in the past. This is a time to start packing your own box/boxes or put the finishing touches on the boxes you started.
Provided will be a few essentials such as soap, washcloths, cups, etc as well as a few pieces of clothing and toys.
The expectation is that you will be investing in picking items that would be great for the child's age group that you chose. More importantly, this gives you the opportunity to pray over the child who will be receiving this box, their salvation, their family/friends and community to learn about Jesus.
2- Sign ups for the Taco Dinner will be at the Information Center on Sunday. Be prepared to sign up to bring an item to make our tacos AMAZING!
3- You will have a chance to purchase raffle tickets starting next Sunday at the OCC table set up in the back of the fellowship meal. The tickets for the tacos is $2 which gets you the tacos and 2 raffle tickets. There will be plenty of raffle tickets available for purchase for $1 a ticket. This is a fundraiser as well so any donations will be accepted and put to immediate good use with more essentials.
**The raffle items are amazing---you will not want to miss out on a chance to win some awesome items!
4- Don't forget to save your change for the change jug. We were able to raise over $500 last year and our goal is to exceed that this year! Thanks for making this a fun event!
