Sunday is here! We’re back to worshipping in both our spaces today at 9am in the Sanctuary and 11am in the Fellowship Hall and we can’t wait to kick off September with everyone! We’re sharing in Holy Communion today and gathering in a way that we hope fills everyone with some light, hope, and joy! We can’t wait to see you this morning!

Did you know that we now have over FIIIIIIIFTY key Children's Ministry volunteers?! 5-0!!!!!

5 years ago we literally had eight total.

What a journey!

Today is Pastor Arthur’s one-year anniversary at Aldersgate! If you see him around this week, be sure to tell him congratulations and a big THANK YOU for a great first year!

During August we’ve been sharing and celebrating some of the missions you participated in and supported with your prayers, giving, and service. One summer mission Aldersgate is well-known for in our community is Picnic in the Park.

Each summer for the past decade (!!) during June and July, a crew of dedicated volunteers and staff load up the church bus with supplies and head across the street to Ken Johnston Park. Under the shade of the pavilion, they serve free lunch to kids and their families. On any given day, you might find sno cones, coolers full of water balloons, soccer balls, beanbag games, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve and connect with members of the community, young and old.

This year, volunteers collectively served 340 hours at Picnic. 340 children were served lunch, along with 227 adults for a total of 568 free lunches!

This ministry would not be possible without your support. Thank you for another great summer!

If you’d like to get involved in our food ministries, talk to Lydia Locke about Hope on Wheels, our once-a-month ministry where we serve free dinners out of a food truck. Hope on Wheels kicks off in September!

Aldersgate Unplugged is back!

Come join us Friday, August 28 in the Disciple Center (2498 Willena Dr, the little house across the church parking lot) for an evening of music and fellowship in a coffeehouse-style setting.

Fellowship and snacks: 6:00-6:30

Evergreens enjoyed a wonderful day exploring historic sites in The Shoals. Belle Mont Mansion was our first stop & out in the country. Then to Southern Grocery for a delicious lunch. Popes Tavern was a wonderful museum of local history. The storms moved through & we followed them safely back to Huntsville. Thanks to Gary’s for the expert driving. Thank you Susan for the pictures.
