I am so proud of the people who lead our activities. It's never a dull day at Oasis. We celebrated the World Cup with a little soccer-play and a patriotic salute to the American Flag! Go USA! ⚽️🥅🏟️🇺🇸🇺🇸

Our ministry is exploding! The need for love is so great, but we need more arms to do the hugging (For those of you non-huggers, a handshake works too).

Do you keep feeling that little tug when you see our posts? You keep thinking about helping us, but just can't quite get it together? Then you HAVE to come hang out with us. We are all just trying to keep it together and sharing our lives with other people just trying to keep it together is just what the Lord has ordered. Here is our info. Rip the band-aid and reach out. Happy Cinco de Mayo from Oasis!
We have the best Friends and Volunteers around!
We started the morning with chips, homemade guacamole (thank you Sue Mauldin!) and cinnamon tortillas. That prepared us for singing with maracas 🪇and la bamba’ing 💃🏼over to excercise! Cathy Curry from Huntsville Ballet Company taught us the Brain Dance and the 8 fundamental movement patterns and boy, did that wake us up!
We made fun decorations for our party - papel picado-and finished the day with Sam and Wayne- the dynamic piano duo! 🎶🎤🎵
And yes, you CAN have (non alcoholic) margaritas at Oasis! 🍋‍🟩

You never know what’s in store when you go to Oasis! John Lemons’ Psalm 8 devotional on David’s prayer while looking up into the heavens was inspiring and he also read us an Artemis II crewman’s musings while looking down at Earth from space. We celebrated Sherry’s and Bob’s birthdays and then Sherry played us some lovely songs and Greg led us in singing some familiar hymns:
Amazing Grace
Blessed Assurance
I’ll Fly Away
The Old Rugged Cross
Victory In Jesus
Sherron led us in chair exercise using balloons and balls. We even exercised to Grazing in the Grass, the Hokey Pokey, and the Macarena. Logan played some of our favorite hymns on the piano for us during lunch. Balloon volleyball was lively as usual and then Lowell gave Kenny his yearly haircut and gave Brian and Cynthia some touch ups. We ended our day with constructing Lego structures. Every day at Oasis is a fun time!

Today was a wonderful day to visit with friends! We enjoyed our fellowship together and many of us delighted in watching children play on the playground in the sunshine. Elaine led us in a discussion about the many names God is called like Father, Redeemer, Shepherd, Healer, Yahweh and so many more! We celebrated Greg’s birthday (a day early) and made him wear a silly hat. Cindy led us in several songs:
-Can’t Help Falling in Love
-Let There Be Peace on Earth
-My Favorite Things
-Amazing Grace
-Victory in Jesus
Cindy also played us a beautiful rendition of The Tennessee Waltz on the piano. We exercised with Tina using drumsticks. Who knew you could work up a sweat using drumsticks? We then made flowers, sewed some cute designs and worked on an Auburn mosaic for the birthday boy. Lunch was BBQ chicken sandwiches, hash browns, pasta salad and cookies and ice cream. The day wouldn’t be complete without our regular balloon volleyball. We ended our time together by playing Name That Tune with 70s and 80s commercial jingles and other fun songs. Oasis is the best!!
