This past week we got to celebrate two people who mean so much to our church family and to so many of us personally. Happy Birthday, Wayne & Alicia! ❤️

Years ago, you said YES to God and helped create a recovery ministry that has become a safe place for people to walk through some of the hardest, messiest seasons of their lives. What people may not always see are the sacrifices behind that yes—the time, the prayers, the late-night conversations, the wisdom freely given, and the countless times you have opened your home, your table, and your hearts to people who simply needed somewhere safe to land.

You both truly live out what it means to prefer others. You love Jesus fiercely, serve selflessly, lead with wisdom, and love people right where they are while always pointing them back to Him.

So many lives, including mine, are different because you were willing to pour out what God poured into you. The Refinery isn’t just a ministry you helped start—it carries the fingerprints of years of your obedience, sacrifice, and love for people.

We honor you both, we love you both, and we are SO thankful God gave us Wayne & Alicia. Happy Birthday! ❤️

Recovery taught me that I didn’t get rescued just so I could keep living the same life that was destroying me.

Grace met me exactly where I was—but it loved me too much to leave me there.

We don’t earn salvation by getting our lives cleaned up. But when Jesus gets ahold of us, change is supposed to happen. Old patterns get confronted. Excuses get uncomfortable. Our wants begin to change. We learn surrender instead of control, obedience instead of feelings, and freedom instead of just surviving.

And sometimes recovery looks like saying, “I know I CAN do this…but is this really who God is calling me to be?”

Grace isn’t permission to stay stuck. Grace is the power to become new. 🙌

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

We’re not just recovering from something. We’re being transformed into Someone’s. ❤️
