You are Special!!!
We often hear things like: “you’re special”, “I love you”, “you made my day”, and “I don’t know what I would do without you”. But I was once told that the value of an item is not based on what someone asks, but in how much someone would pay. With this in mind, let’s take time to ponder how God, the Supreme Being and creator of the entire universe… feels about you.

God thinks so highly of you, that before you were created, knowing that you would be sinful, He planned to send His only begotten Son to redeem you. He loves you so much that He poured out the wrath you deserve onto His perfect, sinless, obedient, Son – Jesus. And in doing that, He declares perfect anyone who truly recognizes Jesus as Lord and Savior.

God’s love for you, does not end there. He has provided His Word so you can have an intimate relationship with Him. He has given you His Holy Spirit in order to empower you to obey Him and live a godly life, reflecting His image. God has also given you the Great Commission so you would have a purpose in His Kingdom. God loves you so much that He set you apart as His chosen people, His family.

As we remember the love of God, let us appreciate the gift of eternal life through Jesus. Let’s use God’s Word to draw us closer to Him. Let’s follow as the Holy Spirit guides and gives us the needed power to live a holy life. Let us remain humble in prayer before Him. And let’s boldly proclaim “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth”.

May God be honored by whom He values,

(Back of bulletin 5-24-26)
This weekend is one we remember those who paid the ultimate price for our country. They joined the military knowing this commitment could cost them their lives. They left their families, not knowing if they would ever see them again. They gave up dreams, jobs, and pleasures of life to train for action. They prepared as if battle were certain. They did this because they knew freedom was worth the cost. They knew that if they didn’t do this… we would lose the freedoms we enjoy today.

The price they paid, was not alone. There was a wife who is now broken as widow. There is a child who lives in fear without his protector. There is a mother who is crushed by the loss of her child. There is a father hurting, unable to comfort the family. They too carry the cost of this commitment.

This is a small example of what Jesus did for us when He accepted the plan of redemption. He knew the price He would pay. He knew the suffering set before Him. He knew the humiliation He would endure. He knew the rejection He would receive. He knew those whom He was offering salvation to, did not deserve it!!! Yet, Jesus humbled Himself by placing flesh upon His person, walked this earth for 33 years, teaching truth, preaching The Word, healing suffering, feeding the hungry, serving the needy, washing the dirty, and training those who would follow Him.

Even after doing this, He was rejected by those He loved. He was abandoned by His followers. He was mocked by those who needed Him. But because He knew the value of what He was doing… He did it anyway.

Believer, we are called to put on His mind and carry our cross, no matter who accepts or appreciates our faithfulness.

May God be honored with our lives,
- Pastor Ron Barker

(Back of Bulletin 5-17-26)
Today our town celebrates 11 teens at Mormon Trail High School who are completing a 12-year commitment. FBC may not have a HS graduate this year, but we do have a group of students who are working hard to finish this endeavor, and finish strong.

It is an encouraging thing to see people work hard and do their best at any event or goal they are pursuing. Whether in sports, work, arts, or studying… No one enjoys someone who does not give a complete effort. However, when someone is serious about what they are trying to fulfill, it does many things.

1st – They motivate others to pursue goals because they see the joy, in fulfilling hard things.

2nd – They challenge others to push harder and give more effort.

3rd – They gain cheerleaders because people enjoy cheering for someone that gives their all.

4th – They will be rewarded either in that event, or by people who know their character and trust them.

With this in mind, let’s apply this to our walk with Christ. Too often we claim salvation, but become stagnate or complacent in knowing God’s Word and letting the Holy Spirit mold our lives. This often happens because we get busy with the things of this life, and forget or ignore the eternal value in growing spiritually.

May each of us take our walk with Christ serious, realizing one day, we will see our Savior Face to face. And the greatest recognition we could ever hear, is Him saying “Well done my good and faithful servant.” For this we should give all, pursue with heart, have passion for our calling, and keep going full steam ahead. In doing so, we will:

1 – Motivate others to take Christ seriously.
2 – Encourage others to push harder.
3 – Be strengthened by others running the same race.
4 – Be rewarded by our Savior / Master / Lord / Friend.

May Christ be honored by our effort,
- Pastor Ron Barker
