Lately, we’ve been especially thankful to see so many new faces coming through our doors. We’re grateful for every person who chooses to spend their Sunday morning with us.

🎶 Dolly Parton: A Faith That Never Left Her

Most of us know Dolly Parton for the songs, the rhinestones, and that unmistakable personality. But behind her remarkable career is a faith that began long before the fame.

Dolly grew up in a large family in the mountains of East Tennessee, where church, gospel music, prayer, and belief in God were part of everyday life. Her grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher, and some of her earliest experiences singing were in church.

As her career took her far beyond those Tennessee mountains, Dolly never left those roots behind. Faith continued to appear in her music—in songs about prayer, heaven, God’s love, and the search for something greater than ourselves. She has recorded beloved hymns such as “How Great Thou Art” and “Precious Memories,” as well as powerful songs of her own such as “The Seeker,” “God’s Coloring Book,” and “Jesus & Gravity.”

Dolly has spoken openly about praying, trusting God, and believing that her gifts came with a purpose. She once put it simply:

“I dreamed big and I prayed big.”

Maybe that’s part of what makes her story resonate with so many people. Her faith hasn’t required a perfect life or a perfect journey. It has been something she has carried with her—from a little country church in Tennessee to stages around the world.

And through her generosity, especially her work giving millions of books to children through the Imagination Library, she’s also shown that our gifts can become a way of giving back.

Sometimes a life of faith isn’t only heard in the songs we sing on Sunday.

Sometimes it’s heard in the song we carry with us the rest of the week. ❤️

Thank you, Dolly Parton, for inspiring others to walk with the Lord and being unashamed to say the name Jesus. May you continue to sing in the glory of God.

During this year's Everyone Belongs Camp, roughly 110 guests heard one message from start to finish: you belong here. Everyone Belongs Camp happens because a village of volunteers, staff, and churches poured out their time to make sure families affected by disabilities felt seen.
