Grace Church, I would love it if you were to come to church having read all of Acts 7. We will be talking about the whole chapter this week. Stephen's sermon. Who would have guessed that someone that was chosen to serve food would be the guy that God would use to preach a sermon to the highest religious court of their time? God is amazing!!!! Our next young adult ministry event is on Sunday, March 22. If you are a young adult who has graduated from high school through 26 years old we would love for you to join us! We will head the Green Turtle in Brandywine following the service for lunch. Then we are going to Top Golf (National Harbor) from 2-4 p.m. Cost of the afternoon is $10 for Top Golf plus your food at the Green Turtle. Thanks to all for your understanding and grace with the unexpected cancellation of worship this morning. We wanted to follow up and share a bit more about what happened.

While our sound team was setting up, the power went out in the worship center. Moments later, the rest of the band arrived around 8 a.m. and noticed a strong odor of electrical burning. Coupled with the power outage, we believed there was some sort of electrical fire somewhere in the building. We called 911 and had the fire department come. They responded quickly, shut down power to the building, and advised us to cancel services until the situation could be fully evaluated.

After further inspection by professionals, we learned that our building receives three-phase power, and one of those phases had gone out. This caused our HVAC system to operate inefficiently, leading to overheating in some components, which produced the smell. Thankfully, there was no fire, and the issue has now been repaired and resolved.

Our decision to cancel was made with everyone’s safety in mind, and we’re grateful for your patience and support as we worked through the situation. We’re thankful for first responders and technicians who helped us address the issue quickly.

We look forward to gathering together again next week. Thank you for being such a gracious and understanding church family.

Due to some malfunctions within our HVAC system, we will not be having a worship service or any ministries (Sunday School, 10 a.m., children's ministry, AWANA, etc.) today. Please help us spread the word. (GSM will still meet for their Super Bowl party at the Shuler home.)
