It creeps in ever so slightly at first, almost unnoticeable.

I am a little edgy with my children. I am a little impatient with my spouse. I am a little annoyed with other drivers.

I have come to notice that when this occurs, it is an indication that I have moved from my center, my truest self.

But I often don’t notice these signs because they are so very subtle.

In addition, I often don’t notice these signs because I am moving so fast that they don’t even register.

They are not BIG flashing signs, like a panic attack; these are much quieter, and easier to ignore.

But these are the first indications that I am not doing the necessary self-care to keep myself living at my God-given full potential.

I wonder…what are the subtle signs for you?Do you see them, hear them, adhere to them? Or do you miss them, blow right by them, until they can’t be missed…

My friends, may we be aware and may we care not just for our physical well-being, but for our mental well-being as well.

Pause.
Create space.
Reflect.
Notice.
Care for yourself.

Jesus invites us to, “Love our neighbor, as ourselves.” But we cannot do this if we are not first loving ourselves. And one of the most loving actions we can take for ourselves, is self-care.

Blessings My Friends,
-Pastor Steve
