Sunday we'll be in John 15 as Jesus continues to encourage the disciples as He prepares to leave. We will discuss the importance of remaining connected to the vine and producing fruit, as opposed to work. There is a difference between "work" and "fruit." We'll also celebrate the Lord's Supper on this Labor Day Sunday.

Pastor Dave will lead worship beginning at 10:00 a.m. Hope to see you.

Sabina Wurmbrand was born a Jew in Romania but together with her husband became Christians just before World War II. They suffered immeasurable hardships as Sabina’s parents, two sisters, and brother were killed in N**i concentration camps. Later, during the Communist occupation, they were both imprisoned, leaving their young son to fend for himself on the streets. But in the midst of all these sufferings, they remained firmly rooted in Christ and through Jesus, bore the fruits of the Spirit, showing love to N**i soldiers and even sharing the gospel of Christ to Communist troops. They lived this life of Jesus’ love and together, God gave them a purpose to help the persecuted church of the world as they co-founded the international organization, The Voice of the Martyrs.

The Voice of the Martyrs magazines are located near the sign up sheets in the entry way at church.

Sunday we finish up John 14. Jesus is comforting His disciples who are understandably concerned that He is leaving them. Jesus says He'll send another Comforter/Advocate, makes sure they have what they need to carry on His work, and give them a "peace that passeth understanding." Jesus emphasizes that those who obey Him are the ones who love Him.

Pastor Dave will lead worship beginning at 10:00 p.m. which follows Sunday School for all ages. Hope to see you there.
