WOW! What a week for Howard Christian Church!

On Sunday, God blessed us with a beautiful day for the Worship in the Park and church picnic. We also celebrated four lake baptisms: Cassie and Logan Harter, and Rex and Emily Smith. The picnic provided a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement. Thank you to everyone who helped with setup, cooking, cleanup, and all the many details that made the day such a success.

Over the last five days, Vacation Bible School has had 60 young people join in learning about the nature and love of God. Nancy and her team provided a terrific week of lessons, crafts, music, games, and snacks. On Wednesday evening, VBS hosted a neighborhood picnic that brought together families, friends, and neighbors for food, fun, and fellowship. A wonderful crowd was present, and many new memories were made. Thank you to every worker and volunteer.

This Sunday, June 14, Sunday School will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by our Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. The youth will sing, the VBS video will be shown, and we will celebrate our 2026 graduates. Communion will be shared during the service. Tithes and offerings may be given in person, online, or by mailing your gift to Howard Christian Church, P.O. Box 465, Howard, PA 16841. We will also begin our summer sermon series, “Heaven Changes Everything.”

Please continue to pray for Lori Taylor as she recovers from her infections. Please continue to pray for the campers, counselors, and staff who will participate in the many summer camps taking place in the weeks ahead.

Weeks like the one we have just experienced remind me of the words of Jesus in Matthew 9:37-38: “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’” A ripe harvest does not wait forever. It must be gathered while the time is right. This past week, we witnessed that truth firsthand through worship, baptism, fellowship, outreach, and the teaching of God's Word. It has been a joy to see the glory of God displayed through the faithful service of His people. We love you, we are grateful for you, and we look forward to worshiping on Sunday.

Mother Instructions - Galatians 6:1-8

Writing from prison and uncertain whether he would live or die, Paul reveals the perspective that shaped his entire life...
05/29/2026

Writing from prison and uncertain whether he would live or die, Paul reveals the perspective that shaped his entire life: Philippians 1:21 reads, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” For Paul, life was not centered on comfort, success, reputation, or personal ambition. Christ was the purpose of his living. Every breath, every opportunity, and every hardship became a means of honoring and serving the Lord.

Then Paul says something even more striking: “to die is gain.” Because of Christ’s resurrection and the promise of eternal life, death was not an ultimate loss for the believer. It meant being with Christ forever. This did not make Paul careless about life, but it freed him from fear. This verse challenges us to examine what truly defines our lives. What do we live for? What captures our hearts and priorities? Only Christ gives life-lasting meaning and eternal hope.

Sunday, May 31, Sunday school is at 9:00 AM, and worship is at 10:00 AM. Tithes and offerings will be received in person, through the website’s online giving tab, or by sending your gift to the church P.O. Box 465, Howard, PA. 16841.

Sunday evening Ladies’ Bible study on Deborah continues at 6:00 PM. Our annual Worship in the Park is planned for next Sunday, June 7 at 10:30 AM, Pavilion 3 and 4 in the state park. The Church Picnic will be after the service. The church will provide the meat, table service, and cookies. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish and dessert to share along with their choice of soft drinks. Vacation Bible School is planned for June 8-12, 9 AM to Noon. Registration is open on the Church website, www.howardchristianchurch.org. There is also a VBS donation sheet available for snacks.

Friends, to live is to live with Jesus in view, and to die is to die with Jesus in view. Either way, the view is ultimate love and acceptance. We love you and will look for you on Sunday.

Galatians 5:22-26 - "Who Do You Belong To?"

A point of reference is always a gift when you have lost your way. A high tower or a visible mountain is good to get you...

A point of reference is always a gift when you have lost your way. A high tower or a visible mountain is good to get your bearings and find your way. Proverbs 18:10 reads, “Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.” A strong tower was a place of refuge and a reference point in times of danger or attack. Solomon uses this refuge to describe the name of the Lord. The believer’s safety is not found in personal strength, wealth, or human solutions, but in who God is. Notice the urgency of that word: run. God is not merely an abstract comfort for difficult times; He is a refuge. This verse does not promise a life free from hardship, but it does promise security in the midst of it. Those who trust in the Lord are held securely by Him, no matter what circumstances may come.

Sunday, May 25, Sunday school is at 9:00 AM, and worship is at 10:00 AM. The worship service will be in person and virtual. We will share a special time in honor of Memorial Day. Tithes and offerings will be received in person, through the website’s online giving tab, or by sending your gift to the church P.O. Box 465, Howard, PA. 16841.

Please continue to pray for Becky and Russell Holter, Esther Geidroc’s father’s recovery from knee replacement, and those traveling for the holiday weekend.
