How close are you staying to God?

Psalm 139 reminds us that God already knows us completely—our thoughts, our words, our ways, even the things we would rather keep hidden. There is nowhere we can go beyond His presence.

But an intimate relationship with God calls us to more than simply knowing that He is there. We seek His presence. We spend time in His Word. We listen. We pray. We choose to stay close.

And the closer we draw to Him, the more willing we become to pray the words David prayed:

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”

That can be an uncomfortable prayer. It asks God to reveal what needs to change, what needs to be surrendered, and where we need His guidance.

But we can pray it because the God who searches us is also the God who surrounds us, holds us fast, and leads us.

Lord, draw us closer to You. Give us hearts that seek Your presence, ears that listen to Your Word, and the courage to say, “Search me, know me, and lead me.”

What would you pray for Pine Grove Community Church today?

In Colossians 1, Paul prayed for a church he cared deeply about. He prayed not simply for their circumstances to change, but that their lives would be transformed—that they would know God more deeply and live in a way that pleased Him.

What a beautiful prayer for our church family, too.

May we continue to grow together—not through our own strength, but through God's work among us. May our faith bear fruit in the way we live, may we know Him more deeply, may His strength sustain us, and may gratitude and joy mark our life together.

Lord, may our lives together be pleasing to You.
