⏪ SERMON RECAP
𝙎𝙐𝙈𝙈𝙀𝙍 𝙊𝙁 𝙁𝙍𝙐𝙄𝙏 – 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆 2️⃣ - 𝘼 𝘿𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚
Love is the first fruit of the Spirit because it is the foundation for all the others. Love makes the greatest impact and leaves the greatest legacy. This week we explored four Greek words for love:
• Eros – romantic love.
• Storge – family love.
• Phileo – friendship love.
• Agape – God's unconditional, sacrificial love.
While we often love with conditions (the first 3 above), God calls us to love with 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙥𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 — a love that chooses others regardless of what it receives in return. What does agape love look like?
➡️ It moves first.
God didn't wait for us to come to Him. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
➡️ It doesn't need to be reciprocated.
Jesus loved people who rejected Him, opposed Him, and ultimately crucified Him.
➡️ It prioritizes others.
Love isn't about getting our way. It willingly serves, sacrifices, and puts others before self.
➡️ It doesn't give up.
Love keeps believing, hoping, and enduring—even when relationships get difficult.
➡️ It is rooted in truth.
Real love isn't defined by culture. God's love is full of grace, but it never abandons truth.

When we stay connected to Christ, His love is produced in us—not by striving, but through surrender.
