Your work was never meant to tell you who you are.

We live like it does, though.

We chase it. We measure ourselves by it, but at the end of the day, it still doesn’t satisfy. Because it doesn't satisfy us, we begin to dread it, and live for the weekends and the vacations.

In Genesis 1–2, we see something better: God gives us our identity before he gives us our work. He gives us grace and blessing before he ever gives us a job description.

You are not what you produce. You are who God says you are.
