Yesterday was the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. Here is an interesting fact you may/may not have known.

Today, June 24th, We Celebrate The Nativity of St. John the Baptist, who spent his adult life preparing the way for Jesus, and proclaiming that “the Kingdom of Heaven is close at hand.”.

Only three birthdays are celebrated on the Church’s liturgical calendar, the Nativity of Our Lord (December 25), the Nativity of His Mother (September 8), and the Nativity of His forerunner, John the Baptist, on June 24. St. John the Baptist was set apart from the womb to prepare the way of the Lord and was a significant figure connected to the Incarnation and the Redemption. The Church honors him because of his role in preparing the way for Christ.

Prayer is one of God’s greatest gifts to His children, not because it always changes our circumstances immediately, but because it changes us. We often come to prayer hoping for solutions, relief, or answers. Yet many times, God does something even deeper.
