Asalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

We would like to provide a brief update and reassure our community. ICCH has been actively coordinating with the Hillsboro Police Department, media outlets, and community partners. Our official press statement has been published, and we are reviewing all developments in coordination with appropriate experts to determine next steps.

ICCH Community Safety Update - 3/22/2026

Asalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Following our previous message, we want to provide a brief update on the steps being taken to address the incident and ensure the continued safety of our community.

Recent actions and coordination:
* Ongoing coordination with law enforcement on the investigation, which is being treated as a hate crime
* Coordinating increased patrol presence in the area
* Actively working with other masajid across the greater Portland area
* In contact with local elected officials to ensure appropriate visibility and response
* As part of escalation, the Governor and Attorney General are aware and engaged

Next steps:
* Holding an extended coordination meeting tomorrow with masajid leadership, law enforcement, and elected officials
* Continuing evaluation and implementation of enhanced ICCH safety measures, especially for large gatherings
* Planning a community hearing — details to follow soon

* The safety of our community remains our highest priority
