Honored to see Father Stuart Long recognized posthumously by The Myositis Association as a 2026 Patient Ambassador Award recipient, with Father Bart receiving the award on Father Stu’s behalf at the Heroes in the Fight Awards.

Father Stu’s journey—from athlete and boxer, to conversion to Catholicism, to priesthood—was marked by extraordinary resilience, faith, and a commitment to inspiring others. His battle with inclusion body myositis became part of a remarkable story of courage, redemption, and hope.

It was especially meaningful to have Father Bart accept this recognition for Father Stu and help carry forward the legacy of a man whose faith and perseverance continue to inspire so many. 🙏

We were very honored to donate this large photo to Mark Wahlberg, who did an amazing job portraying “Father Stu.” In fact we loved the movie so much we gave out free tickets to the movie!

We hope maybe someday to hear back from Mark on this large photo we sent him, and hope he sees this and it reminds him of Helena and our phenomenal Carroll College!

First ever Beyond 227 Freedom Run. It was an amazing day to get out and remind the community that our country is great. We figure as long as the starts and stripes are waving, we will continue to doing this event.

250 years🇺🇸. God has blessed us to live in the best country in the world. Tomorrow, 9 a.m. at Centennial Park at the flagpole. For the 2.5 mile run we will have a running crew and walking crew. Show your love for America.

Come join us as we honor the men and women who built, defended, and continue to serve this great nation. Challenge yourself with a 2.5-mile run followed by a workout that will commemorate America's 250th birthday.

This isn't about being the fastest or the strongest. It's about discipline, grit, and remembering that freedom has always required sacrifice. So if you are someone who hasn't ran since the Bush Administration or you're counting down the days until your next marathon, this will be for you.

Bring your family, friends, priests, and aging philosophy teachers. Push yourself. Encourage others. Celebrate America by doing something hard.

Beyond 227 America 250 Challenge

This year the United States of America celebrates 250 years since its founding. We have so much to be grateful to live in this nation. In honor of USA's birthday we will be hosting 2.5-mile run featuring push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. Join us as we honor faith, freedom, community, and the enduring spirit that has shaped our nation for 250 years. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Bring your flags, wear your patriot gear, and come be a part of the challenge.

The run will start at 9:00 am on July 4th. We will start and end at the flag pole at Centennial Park. Drinks, snacks, and high fives will be provided.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our 4th annual Beyond 227 gala. Mike Manhardt from One Strong Family graciously accepted the role of emcee for another year. Father Ed and Father Bart took the stage to share how Father Stu impacted their lives and how his legacy continues to inspire them. Allison Bell gave a heartfelt speech about the Long family, focusing on Father Stu's dad, Bill Long, and the profound impact he had on those around him. Josh Simkins was honored with the Stu It Award, and through his emotional speech, he shared his journey with epilepsy, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and faith. Matt Birk, our keynote speaker, discussed the key principles that contributed to his success as an All-Pro lineman and how these principles are also essential in his faith. The turnout was fantastic, and we're grateful for the support. Special thanks to Chilli O'Brian's, our sponsors, the servers, volunteers, and everyone who attended. We anticipate an even better event next year. Get familiar with the name Phil Daru.
