This meeting will be a celebration and mission encouragement! It will include a re-cap of the year, a presentation on missions, a vision for the upcoming year and a brief Q & A. Visit the Events Page on the website for more information.

Community Prayer is this Sunday, January 11th and we are hoping you’ll join with us as we fast and pray for those battling illness in our church and communities. As a body, we will fast from breakfast and lunch, using that time to worship and pray for those battling chronic illness, cancer diagnosis, mental health concerns and anything else that affects health. We’ll come back together at the church to break our fast with a lite meal at 5:30, learn a little more about why we fast, pray for those we were fasting for and share our experiences during our fast. Please register if you can so we can adequately prepare for the meal.

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭17‬ ‭

Love, by its truest nature, is sacrificial. It is identified best, not in times of celebration and joy, but in adversity. When things go wrong, Love is proved by presence. Who is there when hardship comes? Over and over again, we see a God who remains willing to be with us. The psalmist writes in Psalm 34 that the Lord is close to the suffering and in Isaiah 53 He is described as one familiar with grief and acquainted with sorrow. His desire to be with us in our weaknesses, to carry our burdens with us and to endure unjust suffering is the perfect picture of Love. He sacrificed perfect peace in heaven to join us in the dirt of the earth that we might experience and inherit that same peace with Him. His birth among us begins the sacrifice of His life that will be seen on a cross and crowned with His ascension to heaven. Love has come. Immanuel.

Joy is a theme of Advent that originates with God. As the Lord fills us with His presence and grace, we flow with a deep gladness that is cultivated from abiding in His word. Our
circumstances this Christmas may not be one that brings cheer and happiness to our lives. However, knowing our Savior and relying on the Holy Spirit, we can still experience joy that only comes from Him. This joy brings powerful strength that fills our lives and allows us to endure trials and sufferings. Joy is also something we choose as we shift our focus from our circumstances to God’s promises. God’s promises are true and
fulfilled in Jesus Christ. His promises bring us joy because time after time God has shown us His character. He is loving, just, sovereign, faithful, holy, almighty, compassionate, gracious, merciful, personal, and trustworthy. The more you read His word, the more you will know God. Our joy comes from knowing Him.
May we share this joy with others this Christmas season.

Scripture to go with it.
“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
John 15:11

“I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people. Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11
