*Manipulative Materials
Emphasis is given to the recognition of shapes, colors, letters, and
numbers. Pre-K students are introduced to kindergarten content standards in all daily activities. Our teachers are dedicated to the safety and well-being of each child enrolled at Heath Christian

School. Above all, we want to focus on listening to each child and sharing God’s unconditional love as we
respond to each child’s needs.

It was a fun week last week and today learning how other countries celebrate Christmas. We tasted Stollen and chocolate covered gingerbread cookies with apricot jam inside. We learned about the story of the Poinsettia from Mexico and made a poinsettia craft. We learned about St. Lucia and how she took food to Christians that were being persecuted for their beliefs. The tradition says the oldest girl gets to be St Lucia, she guided everyone through our school hallways giving oranges and candy to Miss Michelle and Miss Justina and everyone in the front church office. Everyone made candle wreaths. Today, we put our shoes in the hallway (they put theres in front of the fireplace) like they do in France hoping to receive some treats. Everyone was surprised to find chocolate coins inside their shoes. We learned about the Christmas tree tradition and made a Christmas tree craft today. The Christmas fun continues with Gingerbread house decorating on Friday.
