"We don't just gather to hear. We gather to become."

The goal of gathering isn’t simply to receive information about Jesus. It is to be formed into the image of Jesus. So that we actually look more Christlike.

We gather to be transformed.

We hear so that we can become.
We learn so that we can live.
We encounter His presence so that His presence begins to shape us.

The goal isn’t simply that we leave church knowing more about Christ.
The goal is that we leave looking more like Christ.

If our gathering doesn’t lead to becoming, we’ve missed the purpose of gathering.

And here’s the beautiful thing...We don’t become more like Jesus through religious performance. We become through grace.

As we behold Christ, receive His grace, and allow His Spirit to work in us, we are progressively being changed more and more into His image!

Today we take the time to honor all those who gave their lives in service to our country. We remember their sacrifice, we honor their courage, and we are grateful for the freedom we get to live in because of them. Their sacrifice will always be remembered.
