God Will Never Lead You Into Sin
Scripture — James 1:13 KJV
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:.”
Daily Reflection
This gives us one of the clearest tests of spiritual discernment:
God will never lead you to disobey God.
If a voice, impression, desire, relationship, or opportunity requires you to violate Scripture, you don't need another sign.
God has already spoken.
God will not lead you into adultery, dishonesty, hatred, revenge, greed, sexual immorality, manipulation, or anything else He has clearly called sin.
Sometimes temptation can disguise itself as opportunity.
We may even attempt to spiritualize something we deeply desire.
“This opportunity must be from God.”
“This relationship feels too special not to be God.”
“I know Scripture says this, but my situation is different.”
Be careful.
Our desires do not have authority to rewrite God's Word.
When Scripture clearly identifies something as sinful, discernment becomes much simpler.
You don't need to pray about whether you should disobey God.
God's written Word has already given the answer.
Life Application
Examine one area where you have been making excuses. Ask yourself: “Am I seeking God's will—or trying to justify what I already want?”
Closing Prayer
Father, protect me from deception. Give me a heart that loves Your truth more than my own desires. Help me obey Your Word even when obedience costs me something. Amen.
