7:00-8:30pm (ET) with (he/him/they) is a q***r, non-binary, transgender, Jewish nationally recognized and award-winning LGBTQ+ Educator, Activist, Consultant, Public Speaker, and Researcher based out of Philadelphia.
Our monthly support groups strive to be a brave space for members of our communities to be accepted and affirmed exactly as they are. You are not alone!
If you are attending group for the first time, please be on time, as we share important group guidelines in the beginning of the meeting.

On Day 4 of our Interfaith Pilgrimage, WPPA ED and Rev. Josh Blakesley, Interfaith Philadelphia Staff and Interns, and Indy CIC visited our last religious site together, and engaged in a closing workshop. Our visit was to Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Center in Philadelphia. Chenrezig was founded in 1991 by the Venerable Losang Samten as a non-sectarian org open to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. Their main goal is to cultivate compassion and loving-kindness. Losang, an accomplished Tibetan scholar and former Buddhist monk, was the Dali Lamah’s personal attendant until Losan traveled to the U.S. to demonstrate the meditative art of sand mandalas in the West. While offering a mandala to a group of students in Philly, Losang was asked to teach and thus Chenrezig was founded.
Our group met with members of their community and learned about their practice of Buddhism. We also engaged in a short meditative practice and participated in a Q&A with the community.

From there we journeyed to our final destination, Interfaith Philadelphia. We culminated our pilgrimage by engaging in a closing workshop. Participants from Indy CIC met in small groups to reflect on their experiences and to make commitments to meaningful action upon their return home to Indiana. Friendships were forged and strengthened, and authentic commitments were made to build bridges of understanding across lines of difference. To quote Eboo Patel: “To see the other side, to defend another people, not despite your tradition but because of it, is the heart of pluralism.”

❤️‍🔥Join us this Sunday to explore how curiosity can move us towards belonging and welcome, as we explore the concept of “see no stranger”, learning from the wisdom of the Sikh faith and other traditions that emphasize our deep connections to each other. Hear stories of belonging, share your own.

Day 3 of our interfaith pilgrimage began at Mother Bethel AME, a historic congregation in Center City. We were shown great hospitality, and we learned about Mother Bethel’s history and great impact in the community. Afterwards, we ended up at Mikveh Israel, another historic faith community. We closed out the day there with a workshop on navigating difficult differences.

Day 2 of our interfaith pilgrimage with the Center for Interfaith Cooperation [Indiana] & Interfaith Philadelphia led us to BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, a landmark of Hindu architecture and culture in Robbinsville, New Jersey. We were led on an incredible tour by two members of the community, learned a lot about the architecture, their commitment to volunteerism, and some specific spiritual practices of this expression of Hinduism.
