We completed our Old Testament study yesterday with a lesson from Malachi (and a little bit of Matthew)! The entire Old Testament points to the coming Messiah, and we learned how John fulfilled the OT prophecies concerning a messenger who made way for a Savior. We look forward to the New Testament study starting this week!

This past week, we talked about how Malachi was the messenger who spoke about a messenger who spoke about the Ultimate Messenger from God who would make a way for us to live with Him forever in heaven.

He warned people to turn from their sins and false teachings and turn towards the God who could save them. This was followed by 400 years of silence before the coming of the Messiah. We look forward to our last Old Testament lesson this coming week!

This week in West Hartselle Kids, we'll be learning how God's people rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. The time of the prophets was tumultuous to say the least, and Israel cycled through peace, rebellion towards God, destruction, and eventual reconciliation.
