🌍 Global Methodist Church General Conference — Day 2 Recap

Day 2 of the 2026 Global Methodist Church General Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, is complete, and the work of the Church continues.

🙏 Lord, let us remain faithful to Your Word.

🙏 Lord, build Your Church.

Pray for wisdom and discernment for every delegate. Pray that personal agendas will be laid aside. Pray that every discussion and every vote will be approached with humility and submission to the Holy Spirit.

And above all, pray that the Global Methodist Church will remain firmly rooted in Scripture, committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ, and devoted to spreading scriptural holiness across the globe.

🌍 **Global Methodist Church General Conference — Sunday Recap**

The 2026 Global Methodist Church General Conference is underway in **Johannesburg, South Africa**, and this video provides a helpful recap of Sunday’s events and the work that has begun.

One important clarification from today: **Bishop Carolyn Moore has been affirmed to continue in the episcopal election process.** This does **not** mean that she has been re-elected. It means she has received the necessary support to remain eligible for election. The actual vote to elect bishops will take place later this week.

As we follow the work of General Conference this week, let us continue to pray for every delegate, bishop, clergy member, and lay representative involved in the decisions before the Church.

And let these be our prayers throughout the week:

**Lord, let us remain faithful to Your Word.**

May every decision be made with humility, wisdom, courage, and submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Lord, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

As delegates, clergy, laity, bishops, staff, and families travel to Johannesburg for the 2026 Global Methodist Church General Conference, we should pray for safe travel, health, protection, wisdom, humility, unity, and endurance. We should pray that everyone involved remembers that this gathering is not merely organizational business; it is an opportunity to seek the will of God and do the Lord’s work on behalf of His Church.

We can pray that conversations are gracious, decisions are biblically grounded, leadership is servant-hearted, and every vote and action is ultimately submitted to Jesus Christ.

And above all:

Lord, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

When decisions are difficult, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

When opinions differ, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

When culture pressures the Church to compromise, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

When leadership requires courage, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

When General Conference ends and everyone returns home to their local churches, let us stay faithful to Your Word.

As the Global Methodist Church prepares for **General Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa**, we will turn to **2 Timothy 3:14–4:5** and a message titled:

**“Stand Firm in the Word”**

Paul’s charge to Timothy is just as important for the Church today:

**“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season.” — 2 Timothy 4:2**

We will pray for our denomination, its leaders, and the delegates gathering from around the world—that every decision would be made with wisdom, humility, and faithfulness to the Word of God.

West End Methodist Church is working on something special for **Depot Days in Hartselle**, and this picture is your first clue.

We’re not ready to tell you exactly what we’re building just yet… but we can tell you this: you are going to want to stop by and see us. 😁

We will be **accepting donations** to support our **Thanksgiving and Christmas food bags** for individuals and families in need right here in our community.

A little fun. A little mystery. And a chance to help make the holidays brighter for someone in need.

Tuesday Encouragement — God Is Already There

Sometimes we worry about tomorrow because we cannot see what is coming. But God is already there.

Jesus said, “Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself.” — Matthew 6:34

You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know the One who holds tomorrow. Trust Him with what you cannot control today.

Prayer: Lord, help me trust You with today and leave tomorrow in Your hands. Amen.

**Join us this morning at West End Methodist Church!**

Today we conclude our **We Believe** series with **Week 5: God Sends**, based on Jesus' Great Commission in **Matthew 28:16–20**.

God has spoken through His Word. He dwells within His people through the Holy Spirit. He transforms us into the likeness of Christ. He builds our lives upon a firm foundation. But His work in us was never intended to stop with us.

**God Sends.**

Every follower of Jesus has a mission, and sometimes the mission field is much closer than we think.

Join us this morning as we worship together and discover what it means to live as people who have been sent by Christ.

The Storm Doesn’t Break You—It Reveals Your Foundation

The true test of your life does not come on the easy days. It comes when the storm arrives.

Jesus teaches that storms reveal what our lives are really built upon. When the wind blows, the rain falls, and the floods rise, will your foundation hold?

The question is not whether storms will come. The question is:

What are you building your life upon?
