Today’s Message: “It Starts With Prayer”
Mark 1:35–37
Delivered by our Pastor, Reverend Stephens.
Today’s message reminded us that even though people may need you, that does not mean they get unlimited access to you.
Jesus was needed by many people. There were people waiting for Him, searching for Him, and expecting something from Him. Yet Mark 1:35 shows us that Jesus intentionally withdrew from the demands of people to spend time alone with God in prayer.
The lesson is simple but powerful: being needed does not eliminate the need for boundaries. You cannot continually pour into everyone else without taking time to be spiritually renewed yourself.
Sometimes you have to step away from the noise, the calls, the demands, the expectations, and even the people who genuinely need you so that you can hear from God. Jesus did not allow the urgency of everyone else’s needs to replace His time with the Father.
Prayer gives us the strength, direction, wisdom, and clarity we need before we return to the people and responsibilities waiting on us.
So remember:
Your Prayer Leads to Your Praise!!!
Just because people need you doesn’t mean they get unlimited access to you. Protect your prayer time. Protect your peace. Establish healthy boundaries. Spend time with God. Because before you can effectively pour into others, you must allow God to pour into you.
