Tomorrow at North, we continue our series After Easter: A Journey to Pentecost. This is Week 4: The Ascension: A Call to Witness
The ascension of Jesus is not the end of His work but the beginning of the Church’s mission. As Jesus takes His rightful place at the right hand of the Father, He entrusts His followers with the task of being His witnesses to the ends of the earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit. This moment is a call to action—we are to step forward in faith, carrying the message of Christ to the world with the confidence that He reigns and will one day return. Though Jesus ascended, His mission continues through us, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Come worship with us tomorrow morning at 11AM, 967 Carrsville Rd, Hampton, KY

We are on a 7-week journey North Livingston, This Sunday we are on week three after Easter. This week we skip forward, past Jesus' appearances to the Disciples, past His showing Himself to the Disciples on the Road to Emmaus, Past Him giving Thomas evidence that He was bodily resurrected, past His restoration of Peter to a mountainside outside of Galilee. Jesus then gives them (AND US) a calling that will carry them forward into an uncertain future with unshakable purpose and divine authority. Think about it--Jesus doesn't command them to go and erect a statue in His honor. He doesn't send them out to prove the resurrection to the skeptics or to retaliate against those who had just put Him to death. Instead, He calls them (AND US) to go and replicate what He had done in their lives--pouring into others, teaching them, baptizing them, and shaping followers of His example. The Great Commission isn't just something we know, it's something we live!

Tomorrow at North Livingston Baptist Church I will be sharing from one of my favorite Scriptures. We are on a Journey from Easter to Pentecost and this event in the life of Peter is where we all find ourselves at times. From a friend to a failure, Peter went through the same things we all do, but Jesus was there to repair their relationship just like He does in our life when we mess up. And let's be real, haven't we all messed up? Come be my guest Sunday morning, April 19th at 11 and let's look at this transformational event.
