"๐๐ก๐ฒ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ ๐จ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ?"
It's a question we hear often.
The truth is... that's the goal.
We want every individual and every family to feel welcomed at every Catholic Mass.
But for many families navigating autism, intellectual disabilities, sensory processing challenges, anxiety, or other exceptional needs, simply walking through the church doors can feel overwhelming.
A Sensory Friendly Mass provides a gentle starting place.
โจ Lower volume and minimal music
โจ Shorter, more literal homily
โจ A more understanding environment
โจ Freedom to move if needed
โจ No judgment over sounds, stimming, or unexpected moments
โจ Fellowship with families who truly understand
It's a place where parents can exhale.
Where siblings don't feel embarrassed.
Where individuals with exceptional needs can encounter Jesus without the fear of being a distraction.
Our hope isn't to create a separate Church.
Our hope is to help families build confidence, experience belonging, and fall in love with the Eucharist so that participating in parish life becomes possible - not intimidating.
Every family deserves the chance to encounter Christ.
Sometimes, all they need is a bridge.
And that's exactly what a Sensory Friendly Mass is.
