The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice:
and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
Proverbs 23:24

✨ MIDDAY DEVOTION ✨

“Who is a God like unto thee,
that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression
of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy.”

📖 Micah 7:18 KJV

What a blessing to serve a God who delights in mercy! His forgiveness is greater than our failures, and His compassion reminds us that His anger does not last forever.

Today, take a moment to thank God for His grace, His patience, and His unfailing mercy. 🙏🏽❤️

✨ Midday Devotion ✨
God calls us to live with generosity, compassion, and integrity. True generosity is more than what we give—it is reflected in how we treat others, how we conduct ourselves, and how faithfully we handle what God has entrusted to us.

“A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.”— Psalm 112:5 (KJV)

As you continue through your day, look for an opportunity to be a blessing to someone. Give with a willing heart, lead with kindness, and conduct your affairs with wisdom and integrity. When we honor God in how we live and serve others, our lives become a reflection of His goodness.

✨ Midday Devotion ✨

“I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.”— Psalm 119:60 (KJV)

Obedience to God should not be something we continually put off. When He speaks through His Word and directs our steps, our response should be willing and without delay. Sometimes obedience requires sacrifice, but trusting God means believing that His way is always best.

As you continue through your day, ask yourself: Is there something God has been leading me to do that I’ve been putting off? Choose today to trust Him and obey. Delayed obedience can cause us to miss what God is trying to accomplish in and through our lives.

✨ Midday Devotion ✨
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”— Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

Faith means trusting God even when we cannot see what He is doing. We may not know how everything will work out, but we can have confidence in the One who holds our future.

As you continue through your day, don’t let what you see cause you to doubt what God has promised. Keep believing, keep praying, and keep trusting. Faith reminds us that even when we cannot see the way, God is still working. 🙏🏽

✨ Midday Devotion ✨
The Christian journey is a race that requires faith, endurance, and determination. Along the way, there will be distractions and burdens that can slow us down. God calls us to release anything that keeps us from moving forward in His purpose.
— Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)

“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

As you continue through your day, keep running your race. Let go of what weighs you down, remain faithful through every season, and trust God with every step. The race may not always be easy, but with perseverance and faith, keep moving forward. 🙏🏽

Second Baptist Church extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us in celebrating the 15th Pastoral Anniversary of Rev. Dr. Andrew L. Smith.

We are especially grateful to Rev. Dr. Johannon R. Tate and the New Era Baptist Church family for joining us and helping make this anniversary celebration so meaningful. Your presence, fellowship, and support were truly a blessing to Pastor Smith and the entire Second Baptist Church family.

To our members, guests, friends, and everyone who contributed their time, talents, prayers, and support—thank you for helping us honor 15 years of faithful leadership, dedicated service, and commitment to God’s people.
