Work is underway again this week on the steeple restoration work. A 198 foot crane is in place to lift workers up to the top of the 135 foot tall steeple. Yesterday, a new gold coating was applied to the cross.

What is going on with the steeple?

We’re glad you asked. The contractors brought in a crane for the first ten days of August and were able to scrape paint, complete miscellaneous repairs, and install new shingles. Then the thunderstorms began to roll in and the crane was removed. The contractors are working to line up a second visit by the crane to complete the roofing, painting, and masonry work.

The steeple restoration will be one of the most visible components of our Let the Bells Ring Capital Campaign. We are grateful for the generosity of so many that is allowing this work to move forward.
