As a historic church, Zion is tied to the early history of Hamilton. Our building is located within the Original Plat laid out by Israel Ludlow in 1794. In the conveyance record from Butler County with Ludlow listed at the top, you can see a transfer of part of Lot 68 to "Trustees L. Church" in 1865. With purchases in 1890, 1914, 1944, 1970, and 2021, Zion eventually acquired all of Lots 68 and 69.

There are now roughly 32,500 lots in the City of Hamilton, numbered sequentially in order of creation. Even more remarkable than claiming Lots 68 and 69, Zion's first building from 1843 was located on Lot 52.

Today we celebrated Liam Steele, a 2026 graduate of Hamilton High School! Liam is graduating with honors and heading off to George Mason University in Virginia! He was presented with a quilt to carry the love of Zion with him in the future.

This past week was the annual First Call Theological Education Retreat, for Rostered Ministers in their first three years of their first calls. Bp. Dillahunt, Pr. Abrams, Pr. Kerrigan, and Pr. Connie Mentzer also had the chance to join them!

We are so grateful for each of these leaders within ! Join us in praying for them as they continue to serve their congregations and ministries faithfully, strengthened by time together to worship, build relationships, learn, and enjoy some Sabbath rest in the midst of the season of Easter.
