✨Feast of the Visitation✨
May 31-
Today’s feast celebrates the visit of the Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. Pregnant herself, Mary hurries to her cousin’s side to help Elizabeth in the months immediately preceding the birth of her son, John the Baptist. It’s a sweet story - one woman helping another toward the end of her pregnancy. Who knew then that Mary would be without help, on an arduous journey to Bethlehem, at the same point in her life?

It’s a stewardship story, too, for Mary had the time and desire to be of service, and she gave those gifts without reservation. She who carried the Father’s greatest gift did not think it beneath her to offer the simple gifts of her presence and love to someone who needed them. 🙏Father, keep us open to the prompting of Your Spirit and always ready to use Your gifts to help each other. Amen.🙏

Hoy celebramos la visita de la Virgen María a su prima Isabel. Estando ella misma encinta, María se apresura a acudir al lado de su prima para ayudarla en los últimos meses de su embarazo, esperando el nacimiento de su hijo, Juan el Bautista. Es una historia muy bonita:

Una mujer ayudando a otra hacia el final de su embarazo. ¿Quién hubiera imaginado entonces que María se encontraría sin ayuda, en el viaje tan pesado hacia Belén, cuando ella estaba en la misma situación?

Es también una historia de corresponsabilidad, pues María tenía el tiempo y el deseo de ponerse al servicio de los demás, y entregó esos dones sin reservas. Ella, que llevaba en su seno el mayor don del Padre, no consideró indigno de su persona ofrecer los sencillos dones de su presencia y su amor a alguien que los necesitaba.
🙏Padre, mantennos abiertos a las inspiraciones de tu Espíritu y siempre dispuestos a utilizar tus dones para ayudarnos mutuamente. Amén.🙏

On Sunday, May 5, 21 men in formation for the priesthood at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology in Cincinnati participated in the 28th annual Flying Pig Marathon. The men of the Mount held their own among the approximately 45,000 other racers.🏃🏻‍♂️

El domingo 5 de mayo, 21 hombres en formación para el sacerdocio en el Seminario y Escuela de Teología Mount St. Mary’s, en Cincinnati, participaron en la 28.ª edición anual del Maratón Flying Pig. Ellos estaban en condición competitiva, entre el grupo de corredores restantes (45,000).🏃🏻‍♂️

A joyful day for the Church in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati!

On May 16, nine men were ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains. The ordination of new priests is a tremendous blessing for the Archdiocese and a beautiful reminder that God continues to call faithful men to serve His Church.

Congratulations to Fathers Nicholas Emmerling, Curtis Gross, Kraig Gruss, David Homoelle, Daniel Jasek, Benjamin Klare, Doug Moore, Benjamin Packer, and Jacob Schmeising. May the Lord bless their priesthood and guide them as they begin this sacred ministry.
