If we want to experience the abundant life Jesus offers, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. But true love isn't just a feeling; it’s a responsibility to see each other clearly and help one another walk toward God. In his homily, Fr. Lopez highlights how genuine love requires seeing others not just with affection, but as individuals entrusted to our care.

What does God want of me? It’s one of the most fundamental questions of the Christian life, yet doing God’s will doesn’t always come easy to us.

In the Gospels, even Peter - the rock upon which the Church was built - struggled to align his way of thinking with God’s plan. Loving Jesus meant wanting to protect Him from suffering, but Jesus reminded Peter that the path of true faithfulness required taking up the cross.

Following God often asks us to step out of alignment with the ways of the world and embrace self-renunciation. But we aren’t left to climb that steep mountain alone. Just like the prophet Jeremiah, we have a fire burning in our hearts - the Holy Spirit - empowering us to follow Christ even when the cost is high. When we stay faithful to that inner fire, we don't lose ourselves..., we discover who God created us to be.

In his homily, Fr. Tiano addresses the statement, "I'm not religious, I'm spiritual," commonly heard from friends, family, and loved ones. He explores what people truly mean when they say this - often a desire for a relationship with God without the structure of the "church stuff" - and introduces why this perspective misses the deeper meaning and origin of the Church.

In this homily, Fr. Lopez reflects on how God reveals His presence in our lives - not always in dramatic ways, but often in a gentle whisper, amidst life’s storms, and through a saving hand. Drawing from the story of Elijah, the writings of Paul, and the Gospel account of Jesus walking on water, this message encourages us to meet fear with faith and trust in Christ’s constant presence.
