Holy Apostles Parish is the recently merged parishes of Saint Joseph the Worker (Hanson) and Our Lady of the Lake (Halifax). Offices are in Halifax.

The two churches retain their respective names, but the new parish name is effective February 1, 2021. We dedicate ourselves to all who form our parish community, whether active or inactive, that together we may continue to grow in the discipleship of Christ Jesus.

Holy Apostles Parish friends, don't forget! While you might get an extra hour of sleep, you also don't want to be late (or early) for Mass. Set yourself a reminder!

In short, yes! As we head into November, the month of praying for the dead, we can look to 2 Maccabees 12. After Judas the Maccabee comes across fellow Jewish soldiers who had died fighting for a righteous cause, he also discovers they were wearing pagan good luck charms. He immediately takes up a collection to have sacrifices made on their behalf. Incredible to our current Catholic tradition!

St. Jude the Apostle is often called the "forgotten Apostle" because he shares a name with Judas, who betrayed Jesus. As such, he has become the patron of "lost causes." If you are having a tough time right now, Holy Apostles Parish family, ask for his intercession!

Holy Apostles Parish, as you contemplate, let's say a prayer for all our sailors. Mary, Star of the Sea, protect them!

Climb in and show others the way. 🧗 Sometimes the temptation in ministry is to simply tell others what they should and shouldn’t do, but what really leads others deeper is accompaniment.

As we've been hearing the past several weeks, the Pharisees again try to trap Jesus by asking him to pick ONE commandment. But our Lord rejects the premise and chooses two! He also points to the foundations of the faith - the Law and the prophets. These two pillars will be represented by Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration. Ultimately, both point to Christ, the one whom we worship at Holy Apostles Parish. Join us this weekend: At St. Joseph the Worker: Saturday 4:00 PM Vigil and Sunday 10:30 AM. At Our Lady of the Lake: Sunday 7:30 AM and Sunday 5:00 PM
