As a 3rd-gen beekeeper, I’ve learned that there’s SO much more to beekeeping than harvesting honey! (and still learning…)🍯
Behind every jar is an incredible colony of hardworking 🐝 s, a delicate relationship with Mother Nature and a beekeeper🕺🧚🏻‍♂️dedicated to keeping those colonies healthy.
Here are 5 things I wish more people knew about bees and beekeeping. 👏

Inspired by my Central American ancestors who would preserve 🍄 in 🍯 — The Mushroom Honey collection was my first 🍯 collection. After spending a season in Guatemala at Fungi Academy I became obsessed with mushrooms and their health benefits/ benefits to our earth. An experience I’ll never forget!!
Which 🍯 would you try?
I’m currently a Lion’s Mane 💛 girlie! Love it in my coffee ☕️ first thing in the morning for mental clarity. 🤙 Lion’s Mane Mushroom Honey has caramel notes with an anise finish. Lions Mane has been studied for its benefits to the nervous system, mood support, and 🧠 health.

Throw back to when Allie and I were first learning about and realizing we were living in it every day 😆 🍯

Bees in a barrel are officially OUT! 🐝😉
A few fun details I didn’t include in the reel:

🐝 This whole process took about 6 nights of work — checking their progress, making little alterations along the way, and waiting. Patience was definitely the key with this one!

🐝 Curious about the bee venom injections I mentioned? Go check out my reel on bee venom therapy to learn more about how bee venom has been used medicinally.

🐝 And my favorite part… 😂 The night I vacuumed up the last of the straggler foragers, I found a bunch of bees hiding out inside the trash bag by the barrel. Vacuuming them out wasn’t really an option, so I taped up the buzzing bag, gently put it in my car, and drove off with it.

A buzzing trash bag full of bees riding in my car was definitely a first. 🤣🐝

All in all, such a fun removal — and so satisfying seeing them finally make the move into their new home. Also stoked we didn’t have to cut open that sweet barrel!🍯🐝

Would you have been brave enough to put the buzzing bag in your car? 😂
